I just learned about women's co-housing arrangement and Foundation for Intentional Community. I'm interested in these living situations and plan to look further into it.
There are plenty in Texas and it beats an agnostic joining a convent or cult, which I had considered (I was in a cult once but it wasn't communal, everyone had their own home- although I was 19 and lived in the home that was built for the overseers and travelling ministers).
When I was younger, I thought about living in an asylum because there is structure and order (I'm autistic). I also liked the idea of a padded room and straight jacket (didn't understand this was sensory seeking). But I thought about how loud it might get with the yelling. I also considered prison life but it was very messy and a little too harsh so I forfeited the idea very early. Also, my mom had told me that people are lot tougher there in prison than I was considering so that's not really my style. When covid happened, I put some of those thoughts behind me.
But honestly - An autistic community of only women sounds really pleasant and something I'd like to explore.
