For the colour palette thing: "I Wouldn't Do This if I Were You" for Coalstar! Or "part time" for Whiskeypounce.

✨ for Coalstar?
✨ initial thoughts / opinions
coalstar is excellent because i think she’s a very interesting shade of morally gray, personally. i don’t doubt she’d die for mountainclan, and that’s kinda part of the problem. she cares a lot about it and upholding its legacies, and even though she doesn’t like timberclan, she’s still upholding that gathering because that’s what starclan says is best for them. on the other hand, that love is extremely conditional by nature. larchfur crossed the line, and now she doesn’t seem to have any qualms about placing him firmly into a sort of “other” role in her mind. and, truly? while her actions are of course of her own volition, everything she is and ever was has been shaped by her predestined role. coalkit or coalpaw or coalshadow never got the chance to just have a normal mountainclan life, or taught that her own personal desires mattered- ultimately, as intimidating as she can be, that’s just sad. also, her motives and behaviors tend to parallel martenpaw’s, if in an older/more resigned about it kind of way, and the implications of that. ouch. mountainclan cultural issues transcend their generations.

Coalstar
🌼 alternate name
Flintstar. Coalstar is very guarded and solid in her beliefs, and Flint- gives me those same vibes. It’s also an interesting parallel to MountainClan as a type of stone because her character is so closely tied to her clan. Because of the potential of this universe specifically, I’ll also give her an alternate TimberClan name, and that would be Salemstar. Fitting considering her superstition, is it not? ;)
☁️ alternate clan au
Coalstar as TimberClan’s leader sure would be something! Her being raised in TimberClan would strip away much of her character, but her introversion and ambition would remain largely intact I think. There would be less cultural pressure to be perfect, and while becoming leader would be more of her own volition, I think she would still hold herself to high standards out of her own ambition. Seeing her more superstitious in general than superstitious about StarClan would be really interesting too, I think. She might not have driven Loonpelt away, and even if he still decided to leave, he might have become a daylight warrior instead. I think TimberClan Coalstar would be less lonely overall.
🍃 alternate rank au
Coalstar as a medicine cat wouldn’t change too much of her character I don’t think, so I’m going to do Coalstar as a warrior. In a world where she was never given her StarClan sign, Coalshadow wouldn’t feel have such a sense of overwhelming guilt about her kits. She would still find a way to blame unfortunate events on StarClan’s displeasure I’m sure, but she would think of it less as her fault specifically. I think she’d still be a MountainClan poster child, but without the stress of diplomatic endevours, she could focus on her own emotional articulation more (at least to the extent that an average MountainClan warrior can articulate their emotions).
