Day Two: Spring Alt

Sophie’s a red tome user! I wasn’t sure how to go about this, as I know most/all of the Spring units have had bunny themes, but I wasn’t really raised with that I guess. So I put her in an dress similar to what I wore growing up for Easter, with some differences! Some more designs I did under the cut!

Children of Another World, also called ‘Father Swap AU’ and shortened to CoAW, is an idea I came up with after drawing different children units as other classes. The main focus is on the child units having a different father than in canon. Do to how difficult it would be to change them, I excluded both Kanas and Shigure. I’ve worked on this AU on and off for a while now, though I’m still figuring out different families. I leave the mothers open ended and don’t really have a strong opinion of them.

The major units that i’ve fleshed out are:

Sophie: Daughter of Xander and Crown Princess of Nohr

Ophelia: Daughter of Jacob, retainer to Sophie

Nina: Daughter of Laslow, ex-retainer to Sophie and current mercenary

Mitama: Daughter of Ryoma and Crown Princess of Hoshido

Caeldori: Daughter of Saizo and retainer to Mitama

Soleil: Daughter of Kaze and cousin to Caeldori

Some units that have been finalized but less fleshed out are:

Midori: Daughter of Hinata

Rhajat: Daughter of Odin

Selkie: Daughter of Keaton

Velouria: Daughter of Kaden

As for the story, it’s hard. I find the deeprealms boring and I enjoy the idea of the parents actually raising the kids. However, there are some personality changes in the adults too. Mostly in Laslow. He was a flirt during Nina’s childhood, which caused her to think he wasn’t interested in her. Laslow, and Odin to a lesser degree, was afraid of becoming too attached to the world in Fates, as he didn’t belong. So at first, he kept Nina at a distance, furthering her self-esteem issues. As time went on, he realized he was subjecting her to his own childhood, but it was too late. She fled the castle and denounced her old friends and family. This lead to tension between him and Sophie, who was heartbroken to lose her closest friend. Nina is beginning to rejoin her old team though, and still believes in Sophie as a queen.
