Attention game masters young and old, meek and bold
If/when you're running a published scenario/campaign, remember it's 100% alright to cut, add, and/or change content to it if you feel it will make the game more enjoyable to you and your players
As the GM you're responsible for giving yourself and your players those several hours of fun, and that fun ought to be unimpeded by any uncomfortable experiences on either side
If you feel a quest has elements that might creep even just one player out in a bad way, you are legally allowed and encouraged to changing it to make it more enjoyable
I'm currently running a Curse of Strahd D&D5e campaign and I cut a few sidequest out of the game as they contained elements that are either triggers or really uncomfortable to one or more players including myself, as well as added a few elements of my own to add some nuance to it
Being a GM is knowing yourself and your players first and foremost
You are the master of the rules and the master of the story - you are in every right to modify what the book says as long as it makes for a better game
