Japan is bracing for a surge in the number of coronavirus infection after fresh cases exceeded the 1,000 mark for the first time, a week after the start of a national travel campaign to revive the tourism industry.

Die Lockerungen haben begonnen. Arbeitgeber müssen die Gesundheit ihrer Beschäftigten im Betrieb vor eine Corona-Infektion schützen. Wie das gelingt und welche Rolle Betriebsräte dabei spielen Corona-Virus – ein Wort, das derzeit in aller Munde ist, auch am Arbeitsplatz. Betriebsräte stehen vor der Herausforderung, Gesundheitsschutzmaßnahmen mit dem Arbeitgeber zu verhandeln, die die Belegschaft möglichst effektiv vor einer Ansteckung schützen. Ihnen steht dabei das Mitbestimmungsrecht bei Gesundheitsschutzmaßnahmen nach § 87 Abs. 1 Nr. 7 BetrVG i.V.m. § 3 Abs. 1 ArbSchG zur Seite. Das bedeutet nicht nur, dass Betriebsräte auf Augenhöhe und als gleichberechtigte Partner mit dem Arbeitgeber die Gesundheitsschutzmaßnahmen festlegen, sondern auch, dass ihnen dabei ein Initiativrecht zusteht. Mit anderen Worten: Sie müssen nicht auf die Vorschläge des Arbeitgebers warten, sondern können selbst die Initiative ergreifen, Maßnahmen vorschlagen und diese, wenn sie sich mit dem Arbeitgeber nicht einig werden, durchsetzen. Doch wie geht man das Ganze praktisch an? SARS-CoV-2-Arbeitsschutzstandard Eine erste Orientierungshilfe bietet der SARS-CoV-2-Arbeitsschutzstandard, den das Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales (BMAS) am 16.4.2020 veröffentlicht hat. Dieser enthält ein betriebliches Maßnahmenkonzept für zeitlich befristete zusätzliche Maßnahmen zum Infektionsschutz.
