✶ SADDLE UP. ✶ PART 3 (cowboy sevika x photographer female reader)
part one ✶ part two ✶ part three ✶ part four
WARNINGS : soft sev, slight freak activities.
Sevika insisted she give you her number last night so she could send you her address, even though the location of her ranch was common knowledge in town, you willingly took it either way.
She had texted you at four in the morning even though you both agreed on midday.
Sevika had stayed up all night, sweeping her driveway free of any dirt or dust, weeding the plants she had missed previously, washing down the barn, washing her horses, vacuuming the inside of her house. You would think someone didn’t even live there with how clean it was. She was nervous, being photographed of course but having someone come to the ranch that didn’t work there, that hadn't happened in a long time.
When you arrived, pulling up next to her red truck that was out front with the logo you knew all too well, parking next to it in your smaller yellow one. You had brought Sevika and yourself lunch, not knowing if she had eaten yet, assuming not as her large dirt and sweat covered frame waltzed past carrying a bag of mulch to and from her truck to the porch, you hold up the bag of fresh sandwiches dangling it out the window a little, Sevika immediately sighing in relief as she saw the last drop logo.
“You’re an angel” she shouts as the last bag of mulch thudded onto her large brown wrap around porch. She jogs to your car window, her mechanical arm and bicep glistening in the hot sun, the gloves on her hands being pulled off slowly discarding them as well as you hand her the bag with a smile. “You eaten?” She asks only seeing one sandwich in the bag, you nod, had eaten on the way there to calm your nerves, watching her stuff the sandwich down.
With her elbow propped up on the window, cowboy hat blocking the sun from her eyes, sunglasses sitting on the rim she starts speaking again, not caring that sauce covered her lips and lettuce fell down at her feet. Licking the sauce away than wiping her mouth with her forearm. Take a deep breath, you think to yourself.
“So.. this isn’t gonna be one of those firefighter thirst photoshoots right?” she swallows the remains of her sandwich. “My shirt stays on correct?”
You burst out laughing not knowing where she got that idea from. “Correct.” She nods the look of relief in her eyes, maybe a flash of disappointment as well. “I mean unless you want it to be?” You laugh as she shakes her head looking down.
“I don’t think anyone would wanna see that anyway sugar”
“I mean… personal collection right?”
She grins looking at you, then at your throat as you swallow what felt like a stone, then to the bag on your passenger seat. You look over distracting yourself, making sure you didn't forget anything, but you could still smell her, the musk, sweat, freshly cut grass, and a scent of some kind of wood.
Her hand reaches into your car, going past your chest, missing you by less than a centimeter, gripping onto your camera bag pulling it past you, through the window slinging it onto her shoulder without a second thought. You were dumbfounded as your door opened, grabbing your hand. “Thank you.”
You take a look around from where you were standing Sevika surveying the ranch as well.
“Where should we start?” You ask enthusiastically, trying to forget about what just happened and take your mind away from her holding onto your bag.
“A drink.” She deadpans, looking down her shoulder to you.
“Later... I don't drink on the job.”
You smile as she grumbles, though you can see a part of her jaw tense, maybe a smile, maybe a grin?
The sun had aligned right on top of the archway in the barn casting a ray of light right down the middle of the stables on both sides.
Sevika was horrible at posing, she always looked awkward and stiff, when she wasn't paying attention however she was a natural, all her muscles at ease when not under pressure and obvious eyes.
“Sevika…” you sigh trying to be encouraging “just let loose, it's just you and me” she had her back turned toward you, shoulder muscles tensed so hard they could’ve reached her ears. You stride over to her.
“I can’t do it” she huffs, turning around to face you. Her eyes and eyebrows down turned into a small frown, she didn’t want to disappoint and ruin this for you.
“You can." You think for a moment "Tell me about your horses.”
She furrows her brows, but turns toward the one to your left, a brown mane with matching brown and white spots. “This is Rocco, he's about 15, he’s a real pain in my ass, always getting into trouble, he always manages to escape somehow.” you huff a laugh as her shoulders start to relax. “This is Isha” She points her body to a stunning brown horse with a matching almost orange mane. “Pretty huh?”
“Very.” the sun shined onto her arms, you quietly sneak a picture as she walks down to her last horse, the softness in her step, tightness completely disappeared.
“This is Betsy” you wonder behind her, a couple more shots of her. “Shes the eldest, almost 23.”
“Shes stunning.” Sevika nods in agreement. Her hand brushing down her black mane, then down her black hair. Her face at peace, resting with a small smile. Your eyes light up, cheeks a little rosy as you snap another photo.
Sevika did finally get the hang of it, she just needed to be doing something so you made a compromise of letting her do work around the ranch, which wasn’t much because she had stressed cleaned beforehand. But none the less the photos came out devastatingly beautiful. She had been wearing her dusty blue jeans and white shirt more stained then normal you realised, more dirt swiped across the abdomen, sweat at her back, but it made the pictures all so more realistic and Sevika.
You had even got her to sit in the field behind her main house, after telling her to go grab her favourite book, she jogged into her house, coming back a few minutes later with a couple in hand. She takes one and makes you hold the other under your armpit as she sits in the field, some wildflowers surrounding her, the wind her friend as it flies through her hair.
“Okay now turn to your favourite part and read it.”
You had requested this to photograph her face, as she reads...her face turning upside down then smiling, as she flips the page, her presence soft and light. The photos turned out exactly as you wanted them, the sun had also made friends with you and Sevika as it cast a perfect sunset right behind her body in the grass and flowers.
You yell out to her, she nods reading to the end of the page, jumping up, closing it swiftly, catching up to you as you walk in tandem up to her porch.
You say passing her the book that you had held for her.
“Keep it, I… I think you’ll like it.”
She says shyly, pulling a cigarette out of her back pocket, lighting it to avoid looking at you.
You smiled, you hadn’t mentioned your love of reading to her at all, but Sevika had seen you once devour a book outside town hall, she walked into The last drop at lunch, you sitting there with your legs crossed over one another on the concrete bench, your bag right next to you. Then walked out at four and you were still there, although your bag was now under your neck as you laid on the bench, knees bent as your boots tapped on the concrete, still reading.
As you both stop at the porch Sevika rocks on her heels back and forth, the smoke from her cigarette floating around you and her. “Can I still take you up on that offer?”
“Yeah.” She nods, not showing a smile as she opens her front door, the coolness of her house seeping into your skin, relaxing your warm skin. Letting out a relieved sigh you follow her into the kitchen, both your boots sitting next to one another back at the front door.
“What do you like to drink?” She asks, opening a large liquor cabinet, flipping two glasses onto the kitchen bench.
She looks over your shoulder, with a squint of her eyes.
Sevika and you were now sitting in her lounge room, the couch large enough for about eight Sevikas to sit down comfortably. The coffee table, a generous size too, a candle and a book about horses in the middle, Sevika's glass of rum sat next to the book she had given you, your glass empty next to it, and an empty beer bottle off to the left of you .
You were obviously a lightweight, three glasses of Sevikas self proclaimed best whiskey, then one beer and you were a stuttering, red, hot cheeked mess, finding everything Sevika says hilarious, every time you laughed she’d return it, finding you even more funny and cheeky then you already were.
You were staring at her now, Her arm slung on the back of the couch, her hand close to our face, your hair. You had gotten comfortable, your legs were curled up on the couch, your whole body facing Sevika as her legs spread close to your knees.
“Ride what?” She asked with an eyebrow raise, you chuckle, hitting her bicep, your hand lingering a little.
“Your horses, at the rodeo…”
“I don’t know, the winnings are pretty generou-”
“But. Its so dangerous” She laughs as your eyes widen, your body coming closer to her in enthusiasm. “And your ranch does well enough, it just.. It just seems like a risk not worth taking.”
She smiles at your concern, her heart fluttering.
“I’ll put it this way sweetheart” You nod. “You ever want to do something and yeah… there might be risks but you just want it so badly that they to you they don’t even matter… they don’t even occupy your brain.”
“And that's bronc riding for you?” genuine curiosity in your eyes.
“No. Something a little different.” She looked at you, her fingers now touching the loose strands of your hair. “It's funny you bring it up actually, I know I told you I was busy here at the ranch when I was meant to meet you in your office.” You start to nod, her eyes darting around the room now, her fingers still laced within your hair. “Which is true but I was kinda avoiding telling you that this year is my last.” you look at her confused. “I’m not riding anymore, think I’ll give the next generation at least a shot at winning” You laugh quietly. Sevika's knee slightly brushing on yours. “Not upset?”
“If this is a regular occurrence... then I'll have no reason to be upset”
She grins, her eyes lit by the candle on the coffee table, the small hum of her air conditioner.
You shift your knees closer to her, grabbing the hat from atop her head, gently taking it off and setting it down on the table.
You say gently, tracing the scar on her face, her lips, then the side of your neck.
“Hey…” She says in an attempt to stop you from whatever it was you were doing, though the softness in her eyes…
“Hi.” You respond gently, almost a whisper.
You lean in slowly, your lips brushing upon hers, her breath unsteady on yours as you kiss her, slowly and gently, your kneeling knees coming to brush the side of her thigh as you sit yourself next her, your hands and fingers lacing around her neck, tracing into her hair. Her arm bunching up around your shoulder, pulling you in slowly.
You pull away with a small smile and a huff of air. Her arm is still around you as your hands trails down to her bicep, lightly grazing your nails onto the muscle, your eyes on her as you lean down to kiss and lick the skin.
Her small regulating breaths of air make you grin onto her skin as you keep your eyes on her.
You lift your head, Sevika grabbing onto the side of your face kindly, but rough enough for you to know she wanted more, her lips on you now, her tongue slowly slipping into your mouth, matching pace. Her mouth trickles down to your neck as she licks and bites your skin softly.
“God, you taste so good..”
“Sevika…oh my god.” you gasp as her other arms travel down to your waist, playing with the hem of your shirt. You open your eyes slightly, seeing the top of her head bob into the crook of your neck and shoulder, her bicep trapping you in as her fingers linger at the end of your flimsy top, and the waistband of your jeans. The window looking out to the ranch, the sun almost completely gone when a stomp makes your eyes widen, Sevika not stopping, you see Rocco galloping down the drive, you laugh.
“Yeah?” she looks up to you so willing to hear what you have to say.
“Rocco, he…” you point to the window, Sevika turning around seeing his mane fly in the wind down the dusty road. She sighs
“That damn bastard.” You laugh as she kisses your temple before going to the front door to put her boots on, the door closing behind her.
Only for it to open a few seconds later.
“Stay here. My bedrooms down the hall, the second door on the right. Books and TV in there if you get bored.’ Still sitting on the couch taking the information willingly. “Don’t go home... please.” You nod, taking her hand that rested on the couch.
“Go.” You smile, tiredness dawning over you.
“There's clothes you can change into as well, just open my wardrobe and you can take whatev-”
