Valentine's Day Special

a.k.a. All the games I have on Steam that have a canon romance for the protagonist, arranged roughly in order of how good their relationship seems. Spoilers beyond.

The Good

The Dream Machine - Victor and Alicia Neff. They have some rocky moments, what with Alicia being pregnant and Victor being a flake, but they clearly love each other and Victor goes through multiple nightmares to save her.

Grim Fandango - Manuel Calavera and Mercedes Colomar. Admittedly they only become a couple at the very end of the game, but they do spend a year walking to the Ninth Underworld together.

Monkey Island - Guybrush Threepwood and Elaine Marley. After a temporary break-up in LeChuck's Revenge, Guybrush and Elaine get married and stay pretty strong, staying together all the way to Return to Monkey Island even while Guybrush is off on adventures and Elaine turns American for one game for some reason.

Super Meat Boy - Meat Boy and Bandage Girl. After everything I went through to save her, they'd better stay together that's all I can say.

Honourable Mention: Full Throttle - Ben Throttle and Maureen Corley. They might have been great if Maureen hadn't had to take over her father's company. On the other hand, one was a Vulture and one was a Polecat; how would they raise the kids?

The Bad

Broken Sword - George Stobbart and Nicole Collard. Given that they spend the gap between every game breaking up, I cannot give them a 'Good' score. Either stay together or break up, my word.

Cube Escape - Laura Vanderboom and Robert Hill. Having a stable relationship while also dealing with severe mental health issues is never easy, so I give them some leniency on that. When Laura transforms into a blobby shadow person, that's pushing it.

Dreamfall Chapters - Zoë Castillo and Reza Temiz. A tricky one, since they're already exes on friendly terms in the first Dreamfall, then become bickering partners again in Chapters. But Reza has been brainwashed in the time between so it's not really his fault. Zoë is pregnant in the epilogue, but we don't know who the father is.

Phantasmagoria 2 - Curtis Craig and Jocilyn Rowan. Like Laura Vanderboom, Curtis is dealing with his own issues which I can't hold against him too much. And their relationship was never exclusive, allegedly. But Curtis barely even seems to like Jocilyn half the time, even in the ending where they stay together.

Dishonourable Mention: Harvester - Steve Mason and Stephanie Pottsdam. In the good ending, they get married and have a long and happy life within the Harvester VR. In the bad ending, he tears out her spine. That's... not good.

The Ugly

Phantasmagoria - Adrienne Delaney and Don Gordon. I know he was possessed but... still.

Heyo folks, here’s part 3 in my walkthrough series for The Dream Machine by Cockroach Inc. and The Sleeping Machine. In this part I’m focusing on chapter 3, which is the longest chapter so far. Heyo folks! Video #1 for the day has been uploaded!

In this video I’m playing more of The Dream Machine by Cockroach Inc. and The Sleeping Machine.

This part showcases half of chapter 2. I decided to only record half to 1: prevent spoiling the entire chapter and 2: It’s a fairly long chapter.

I also read all the dialogue throughout the course of the video so you don’t have to. The game becomes quite interesting in this chapter as well.
