On Monday's page -

I rather suspect Boris's reaction to scuttling the Castle (the concept, that is) is not just because he believes Klaus has A Plan that doesn't include that, or even the (honestly ridiculous) implication that Klaus would in fact die.

While both of those are probably factors, I also think Castle Wulfenbach would have been the first place he felt safe after what had to have been a series of rather traumatic events. (Involuntary Mad Science, etc, etc.)

Anyway, so you needed to think about that today.

Boris's "We do practice (evacuations), you know" has activated my angst hindbrain.

And the question of the day is: "how much warning did the Other Attacks give?"

Or, in other words, "how long would the evacuation of the original Castle Wulfenbach have had?" (How efficient would it have to have been, for everyone to survive the initial attack at least)

(How much practice would they have had to have had, for Klaus to come back to his people. battered and injured maybe, but still the chance of saying goodbye to his parents)

IDK. Just hit me randomly.

In the wake of the "who's this chump" of today's page, I Have A Theory!

It's Klaus, but deaged a few decades and very, very confused

And about to get more so.

So, something else just clicked for me.

We don't see any Vespiary squad in Beetleburg.

Now, this has a perfectly reasonable in universe explanation (don't want to spook Beetle walking in the door), and probably an out of universe explanation of "they didn't exist yet".

But.

The in universe problem with bringing them can be solved, if you have a group of other soldiers who can phase in and out of reality at will.

So, until proved otherwise, I will believe that there were some Black Squad people in Beetleburg during the incident.

Does this effect the plot? No, not really (at least, not yet). If any were there, it would probably be the "core team", mentioned recently.

OK, so today's page has two main discrepancies. The first and most obvious is that Dal seems to have forgotten what his squad's orders were, while he knew earlier.

The second is that the Wulfenbach sigil on Bang's hat seems to have turned into a trilobite, appearing as such in two panels.

Once is odd, twice is suspicious, three times is a pattern.

I don't suppose I could borrow a couch?
