The thing about Simon was that he was not a shy man. He was military, taught to respect his superiors and speak his mind when needed to. He would not shy away from a barked order or an occasional joke with Soap.
Imagine his surprise when he was rendered almost speechless when the shy timid nurse that would timely patch him and his comrades up and then send them on their way, was manhandling a 6"4 man and succeeding.
Price asked him to drop something off in the medbay, he routinely walked towards his destination, everything seemingly going fine until he heard screaming and cursing. Which, was not uncommon but they were getting louder and louder and he heard a loud clatter coming form behind closed doors.
When he opened the said doors he saw you, a nurse who was always soft and polite, holding a private that got injured on his recon run in a headlock. the man was injured. blood seeping from his right leg and arm. he was thrashing, or trying to at least. Your grip would net let up.
"Calm down Private this will only hurt for a second we need to get the bullet out." your sharp voice cut through the medbay, the man's screaming stopping for a second to look at you. and that's all you needed. with a jerk of your head an orderly was injecting a sedative into the soldier's neck and your grip was slowly loosening on him.
You huffed out a breath, making the loose strands of your hair that fell from your bun sweep up and then fall right back. Simon broke out of his stupor and cleared his throat, making you harshly turn to where he was standing in the doorway. a soft smile fell over your features as you looked at him.
"Lieutenant Riley! to what do we owe the pleasure?" you put your hands on your hips, the glimpse of the warrior that Simon saw was gone and your sweet self was back. He almost forgot why Price sent him over to you in the first place.
"Got some paperwork for you doc" he said and extended his hand that was holding the files over in your direction. You nodded, the smile never leaving your face as you walked over to him.
"Oh! Lieutenant, while you're here how about you let me take a look at how those stitches are treating you?" it sounded like a question, but Simon knew an order when he heard one. He nodded adn sat down on a n empty bed while you wheeled around a small cart towards him.
" That fella giving you troublr doc?" he asked as your nimble fingers pressed and prodded at the knee he injured almost a month ago. Your brows were furrowed in concentration and a small sheen of sweat was visible on your neck. " Oh that? Nothing I can't handle" You smiled and stood in front of him. " Has the pain subsided?" Simon nodded again and got up. " I'll leave you to your unruly patients then, got cadets to train" A polite smile graced your face as you softly waved him off and turned back towards the private, who was now knocked out cold and began dressing his wounds. Simon lingered for just a second more, the warmth of your hands was seared onto his knee like a brand, the wrinkle of your eyes as you smiled up at him was the only thing he could think of as he left the medbay.
