Before Code: Realize was made into a game, while Beast Master & Prince's fan disk was nearing completion, the artist "miko" (as told on the Toroiro Stripes art book) said during staff breaks, she'd began talking about what kind of projects they'd be working on next, expressing her love for steampunk and hoping it would be a theme for a future game. Three years later, she completed this illustration which would eventually would lead to what we've come to know as "Code: Realize".

Taking a closer look, we can see miko had more or less already conceptualized Van & Cardia's design, sharing several traits with their future counterparts. Cardia retained her fluffy long hair, Van had already been carrying a rifle and had that stern look. The other characters present in this illustration definitely seem to share traits we now find in current day's Lupin, Fran, Impey & Saint Germain, though I wouldn't know what happened to the "dog mask" guy in the back.

Because...if it's a bonus item, you're not supposed to sell it. Additionally, if you've put these guys up for sale and there's only one of them, can you imagine the war it would be?
Thank goodness that's not the case and instead, this is logo-less version of the cover for the Code:Realize ~Future Blessings~ visual guide book. I used the bonus card from Stellaworth a nearly texteless version instead of using the actual dust jacket of the book which covers part of the image on the spine and in the back. What can say? They all look good to me!

Ahhh.....here comes the Mafia version of the one, the only, the incredible GENIUS ENGINEER Impey Barbicane! To be honest, he looks less steampunk and more gangster than all the others! But that's just as well. You have to admit. the suit they gave him really shows off his long long legs ready for action...! Ahem, you know, like fighting and kicking baddies. Why would I be talking about anything else? It should be noted that Impey is the ONLY ONE that gets a completely different hat. To be honest, I can't imagine him using a top hat, so the fedora & goggles combo works perfect for him. The stripes vest makes a nice contrast to the rest of his outfit and fits his frame very well.

Promotional illustration focusing on Sholmes & Finis since they both received brand new routes in the ~Future Blessings~ fan disk for the series. Roses seem to be a common theme in Code: Realize, so I had to wonder if there was any meaning to the red petals in this one.
Doing some research, I found in the website "flowermeaning.com" that "The rose is often associated with numerology. In art of the renaissance period, a rose with eight petals was a message of rebirth and renewal. In alchemical texts and art, a rose with seven petals was a symbol of inclusion, universal understanding and order. "
I think we can safely conclude that the latter applies very well to the universe of Code:Realize, especially because these routes take place during the first game's event, before we're presented with the "white purity" roses, or something along those lines...

If anything, compared to her, I would think I fit the description of a monster more closely.

Van: What’s the matter? Are you worried about her? If that’s the case, you can put your mind at rest; I don’t have any intention of hurting her. To begin with, in order to pursue my objective, she’s the only person who can help.

Van: Hmph, like I care. Animals can instinctively tell a person is bad. To put it simply, it seals the fact that you are a failure as a guy, yes?
Impey: What nonsense. To begin with, Sisi has always hated guys and treated them as enemies ever since I picked him up.
Van: Is that so? He has never once barked at me.
Impey: Eh? Are you serious? That’s strange, he never did get friendly at all with me or Lupin. Huh, so that’s it! If I think of it this way, the reason why Van isn’t hated is because…
Van: Hmph, are you going to say it’s because I am good person? What stupid-

Van: Tch, I missed. And Sisi was disturbed and got woken up. Sorry about this idiot who’s making so much noise.

Van: Don’t worry, I didn’t intend on hitting you.
Impey: You are lying! Just a few seconds ago you were saying the exact opposite!
Van: In the unlikely event that it hit you, I will put the pieces of your corpse together perfectly, using artificial appendages if required.
Impey: I don’t need that! I don’t need such aftercare! Is anyone present here a detective?
Van: Unfortunately, we don’t have a detective around but rather a phantom thief in this mansion. So, did something happen? You were searching for me just now.
Impey: Eh? Rather than searching for Van, I was really searching for my cute, cute ‘my honey’. I thought maybe you would know where she went.
Van: I haven’t the faintest who is this ‘my honey’. What business do you have with her? More of your flirting business?
Impey: Oi oi, stop making it sound like I am always flirting.
Van: It’s not “it sounds like”, it’s exactly that.

Impey: How naive. it’s perfectly fine to take care of the lady who can’t really go out. And soon, when she’s feeling homesick, I will tell her, “your home is here in my arms, fret not.” And then ‘my honey’ will hug me and give me a kiss of gratefulness.
Van: Hmm, and then you would melt and disappear just like that.
Impey: What’s up with you, stop adding unnecessary details to my bright future!
Sisi: *barks*
Impey: Even you too Sisi?!
Van: It’s because you are too noisy. And he was finally having such a good nap too…

Hi there! Currently the new Code:Realize ~Shukufuku no Mirai~ game (”Blessed Future” aka the “Fan Disc”) is only announced for Japan. Aksys has yet to even acknowledge the existence of this sequel game to the original “Code:Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~” (known as “Princess of Genesis” in Japan).That said, the game is only available in Japanese and there is no guarantee that Aksys will localize it. If you are interested in getting the Japanese version, sites like CDJapan & Amazon Japan will have the physical copy available for purchase soon.
You could also get the Japanese version of the game by connecting to the Japanese PSN store, but that requires some complex steps that involve resetting your device to factory settings. Again, this is ONLY in Japanese.
As far as getting it in English, send plenty of nice e-mails & suggestions to Aksys through all their media outlets, be it here on Tumblr or Twitter or other online presence. Let them know how much we want the game localized, because the Otome Armada can’t ever get enough of Code:Realize!
