today’s quiet time:
Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
The type of comfort we receive from Jesus is different from the comfort we receive from the world. This type of comfort is to help us grow in our convictions and not settling for less than who God has called us to be. The type of comfort the world gives us comes with a love that comforts us to be “comfortable” in our mistakes, rather than spiritual discipline. We need to love each other with direction rather than with no direction. We need to seek out instruction when we seek out comfort.
