I thought of something kinda bittersweet.
With forging being THE most common way of bots to be born "naturally"on cybertron adoption is probably the default method of childrearing.
Like, you decide you wanna raise a sparkling and so you wander on down to the hot spots and pick out a still cooling protoform, expose yourself to it so it starts replicating your form (and any other bot you want involved), and after a few hours to a few days BAM you got yourself a toddler/child to raise.
Kindling is rare because, unlike forging which bots can technically do solo, it requires two bots right out the gate. Getting it started is a gamble because the odds of creating one while merging are all over the place. A bot could get it first try while others could merge hundreds of times and never get one. After that the new spark is insanely delicate and be reabsorbed at random. But even if you get it to stick cybertronians can carry for YEARS before producing the bitlet, and in that time their energon needs increase, their physical performance gets worse, and they become susceptible to complications. All to create ONE bitty (two or more if your insanely lucky) who needs constant care, attention, and even more energon to grow, all while being completely dependent during its initial start in life.
With that in mind you can see why bots prefer Forging
Then someone invented cold constructs. And cold constructs are basically brought online as adults with just enough minimal programming to complete tasks. Developing personalities as the go. They can develop relationships and even produce kindled sparks but they're pretty much never actually adopted in a official sense.
Which is why I think it would be sweet if Prowls parents adopted him.
I think prowls tac-net was initially treated as a kinda glitch and they were kinda just gonna... throw him away? Like a defective product?
But then his would be parents intervened and essentially took him in. Found him a starting job and everything. Eventually Prowl wound up as an enforcer where his "glitch" proved useful.
Just think itd be a really bittersweet backstory for Prowl. Sweet because he got what a lot of CCs didn't, but bitter since he did eventually lose them both.
Yeeesh… this is good world building but..at what cost 😳 poor prowl
