Homebrew Cantrip: Cold Curse

Cold Curse
Spell for Sorcerer, Wizard and Warlock Evocation cantrip Casting Time: 1 action Components: Verbal, Material (melee weapon) Duration: 1 round Shards of ice grow from a weapon You hold and brand enemy You hit with it, attaching to place of impact. When that foe attacks You a secondary brust of ice harms them. As part of this spell You make a melee weapon attack. If the attack misses the spell fails. On a hit target creature suffers normal effects of an attack and becomes branded for that round. If the target makes an attack roll against You, suffers additional 1d8 cold damage and the spell ends. When You reach higher levels effects of this spell becomes more powerful and Your weapon attack also deals additional cold damage. At 5th level, target takes 2d8 cold damage from the brand and Your weapon attack deals additional 1d8 cold damage. Both damage of weapon attack and the cantrip increases by 1d8 at 11th and 17th level.
