Helloo I hope it's not too late to send an ask :D 6,13,17 for Ask Game 20 Sim Story Questions
HELLO Never too late to give me an excuse to bang on about my story haha! /positive
6. There's a ton I would have changed, I've outlined it here in my response to wolkentage cuz there's quite a lot haha.
13. With my archived Sims stories that happened in the Magic Universe, they all were only one-word titles so I decided this one had to be as well. I went with 'Divided' since it summed up the whole story more or less. There's a lot of lines drawn between different groups of characters, though it also defeats the objects since a good chunk of the story is about the characters coming together as well.
I did say to a friend I should have went with United, but it reminded me too much of football and seemed too positive for such a dark story. It's instead the name of a chapter involving a marriage, though.
17. Share some of your favourite quotes from your Sims story!
OH we could be here forever haha, let's go!
'No good comes from devoting yourself entirely to one cause. If you lose yourself in the process, then what good are you to the cause?'
'Everyone with even the smallest desire for change wants one of two revolutions: one of shaking hands and dancing in circles, or one of blood and fire.'
'Years ago, I made peace with fire, and this is how it has repaid me. I made it my sword and shield and it has stabbed me in the back.'
'It shouldn't have to be the one tied to the stake to comfort the one who's about to light the match.'
'That was the first time in a long time that I had felt anything close to emotion. I felt the way a mother must, the explosive, instinctive warmth in her chest the moment she holds her newborn and it stirs gently in her arms. In the moment you began to rouse from death into undeath, you became my responsibility. You became my son.'
'Humans are as determined to live as they are to die. They are desperate for survival, and yet they will cling on to anything even if it lowers their chances drastically. The only comparable arrogance to that of humans is that of the long-dead dragons.'
'Over a millenium surrounded by humans, I have come to realise human emotions appear to be nothing but a hindrance to them most of the time. They had names for everything I considered survival instincts, only theirs seemed detrimental to their own survival.'
'One of my favourite human emotions is joy. I currently find myself feeling something close, something I never felt before getting to know humans. It is overpowering, all-encompassing. It is perhaps one of the more useful of the emotions. It keeps them grounded in uncertain times.'
'This charred husk could be anyone. Some moments ago, it was an individual, clearly defined, now reduced to charred flesh. the Watcher made her in Their image, and this heinous method of causing her death has ruined The Watcher's wondrous design.'
'Read any work of fiction, from masterpieces by the greats right down to the penny-dreadfuls and you'll see that people love to read about how the people in between the pages feel. They love to read about them, they love to see the highs and the lows and the in-betweens of their lives. Everyone adores emotion and passion, but only in theory and only behind closed doors. Open your heart in the real world, and you're too fragile, you over-react, you just don't understand, you haven't looked at all sides of the story.'
'Many consider the Mare to be a symbol of strength, but she is not. Of course she is not. She is a symbol of servitude, of sacrifice and of a life that will never truly be her own. Her entire life is a test of her endurance. Despite it all, she is majestic and beautiful. A creature who is only valued for its service and its beauty, and should it lose either of those qualities, it will be considered useless and discarded. It is something every woman has in common, isn't it?'
'Immortality seems a gift to many in this country, but for me, there is little beauty in permanence. Temporary is beautiful. It is fleeting, but it gives the gift of appreciation. Back home, we learn to love temporary. When the sakura blossoms bloom, it is only for a short period of time, and many flock to admire their beauty before they fall to the ground and wither. Permanence is stagnation.'
