PENSARE LA CITTA’ PUBBLICA Progetto Flaminio - Science City quarter in Rome

International urban design and architecture competition

- We interpreted this public initiative as an occasion to propose a new approach to the urban process in Rome. A simple set of ambitions and rules, and  a wide design community of experts of the social and spatial history of  Flaminio as well as representatives from the world of arts, natural studies and science which could stimulate and organize the urban development process as a collective one.

Mailing party was yesterday! We still have a few billion papers to fold and envelopes to stamp, seal, organize, bag up, and lug to the post office, but you can already find copies of Issue #118 wherever we've managed to distro them in the Berkeley/North Oakland area.

Issue #118 is on it's way to the printer! I think the issue actually turned out alright, but we suffered from some internal drama, and after a few high-intensity fuck-yous and walkouts we were pretty short staffed. We're planning to push back the next issue until next September so we can figure out how to make the collective stronger, but we'll be making the organizer this summer as usual, and we'll probably make something in place of the issue this spring. For now, you can join us from 1-9 Sunday at the Long Haul for our mailing party, and to celebrate Slingshot's 27th birthday at 7PM!
