The pinnacle of 1970s suburban masculinity: thick, woolly shag carpeting that could easily hide a missing deck of cards, Early American colonial revival furniture, short-sleeved dress shirts, and a giant cigar clamped firmly in the jaw. That intense handshake across the poker table carries the solemnity of a multi-million dollar corporate merger, but they're likely just fighting over a three-dollar pot.

This house has the kind of decor you either love or hate. Built in 1921 in Lewisburg, WV, the 3bd, 3ba 2,925sqft Colonial Revival home is priced at $725k, reduced $24k on May 1st. (Zillow says it's worth $691,100, so it's still overpriced.)

It has color and pattern. I always like checkered flooring and I like the stair carpet, too.

The rooms are shown empty and with furniture. I can't tell if it's Photoshopped or if they're earlier actual photos. They look very detailed, so I think they're real.

Here, they have a family room. Lots of Patriotic carpeting throughout the house.

The dining room has nice mural wallpaper and I love the clouds on the ceiling. The wainscoting is kind of contemporary.

More pretty wallpaper in the sun room off the formal living room. I like this floorplan.

The guest powder room. You need to be a fan of their wallpaper choices. I kinda like it.

Not thrilled with the kitchen. I guess they painted the old cabinets black. There's a large casual dining area back there, which is a nice feature. I see that it even fits a couch. I don't like wood countertops, they're hard to maintain, and I don't care to mess with that.

Here we are upstairs on the mezzanine leading to the bedrooms.

The primary bedroom. Well, they took the matching chairs. At least ask the new buyer if they want to buy them.

Small walk-in closet.

It's not an ensuite, but this bath in the hall is spacious and has been refreshed.

This bedroom has a door to the outside. Maybe stairs going to the yard.

This one is nice.

Updated shower room.

This room has a great closet but they use it as a spare room.

This is great, a large rooftop deck over the side entrance.

Nice park-like yard.

Love a gazebo.

Breezeway and a 2 car garage.

The land measures 2.05 acres. That's a lot of land for under $1m.

Classic Colonial

This grand, high style Colonial Revival home is as traditional as they come. One might even call it a bit stuffy. Of course I saved the biggest, fanciest, showiest for last — and honestly, I'm kinda meh about it. Symmetry, yawn...

Still, you'd be hard pressed to find a better style of home to decorate for Christmas in that classic, traditional way: between the formal living and dining rooms, this home has not one but two big, fancy windows for big, fancy Christmas trees. And with a live-in butler, the sky's the limit for hosting big Christmas parties.

This home might be perfect for: a sim family that is either very big or very rich (or better yet both), your own Home Alone-style kid sim's misadventures, fireplace aficionados (we've got 6!)
