Bet365 this week completed ten separate sponsorship deals with ten teams from Spanish soccer’s prestigious La Liga. The unprecedented move means the British online gambling giant has partnered up with exactly half of Spanish soccer’s top tier in what the country’s el Economista newspaper referred to as “a colonization.”

Civilization: Beyond Earth Worker Unit Colonizes Lego Idea Community Program

We’ve covered the Lego CUUSOOO program a number of times before. Now, It has a less confusing name (Lego Ideas) and the same great crowdsourced voting system. This is the first time though, that we can recall a developer and publisher seeking to bring a brick-based video game asset to fans through the program.

Civilization: Beyond Earth developer Firaxis and publisher 2K Games have submitted the recent release’s worker unit for community consideration. The in-game asset was designed by concept artist Mike Bazzell and turned into a Lego creation by senior artist Andrew Clark.

The kit was designed as a limited edition build for the team, but Firaxis wants to make it available to all fans. In order for that to happen, the kit needs to receive 10,000 votes.

At that point, it will go to review by Lego staff. One piece of that process is licensing, which we suspect won’t be too big a hurdle given the support the proposal is receiving from Firaxis and 2K.

If you’re not familiar with the Lego Ideas program, it’s the method by which the first Lego Minecraft set, Back to the Future DeLorean, and Ghostbusters Ecto-1 kits came to be.
