4. the best thing that has happened to me this week.
DEFINITELY getting a 98% on my debate! It was a semester long project that I worked ugly hard on so I’m glad it’s over.
26. story of my first kiss
It was on the first date with my ex when I was 18. we had a picnic by a lake at our town and it was actually quite lovely. my dress ripped and I lost a button on my jacket.

Time for some real self reflection!
My strengths? I guess my biggest strength is being able to convey humour through my writing. Mostly. I think. I feel pretty confident in my ability to put a sentence together and I think generally my pieces flow fairly well.
I also think that thanks to all the drabbles I write, the 100 word limit has taught me to keep it simple and focus on what is important. Cutting the crap,so to speak :-)
It’s hard to do this...mostly I am shocked that anyone has any interest at all in reading my stuff.
My weaknesses? I don’t really have any technical creative writing knowledge and I am sure I make a lot of classic mistakes as a result (Ignorance is bliss) I am not a big rewriter - the first draft with a few minor changes is often what you get. Writing Emma is a big weakness - I don’t feel I have really nailed her down yet. I am so new to this I don’t even know what I don’t know!

Writing ask! 9. Do you have a music playlist for writing? If so, top 5 favorite artists / songs. :)
Oh shoot... where do I start. I don’t have a playlist per se, but I do pick songs according to the mood of what I am writing. For Separate Lives, for example, it’s been all 80s music. I just pick a song and grab a random 50 song playlist in youtube and get inspired.
I love using songs to inspire myself and also I love to use lyrics in my fics in general. Each chapter of SL starts with a piece of lyrics that tie to the mood of the chapter.
Dark Side of the Moon is actually lyric based, with one song per each chapter. In those cases, I just listen to that song over and over while writing it.
I love doing fics with song lyrics in them. I wish I could more with songs in Spanish. They are such great songs that are very keen for CS (from Soda Stereo, for example) but I’d have to translate them and it’s such a pain... certain things you just need them in the original language.
But basicaly, lots of 80s music.

I prefer third person! I absolutely loathe first person in fics, though sometimes when I’m reading novels it’s okay. Second person is just weird to me. hahaha

For me, the Divergent sequels didn't quite measure up to the first book- but Allegiant had a lot of really profound quotes that I thought were so good for CS- they're all about love and self worth and strength which is perfect.
