Though Colourwaves likes to tag his music “drowse-pop” there’s no falling asleep to the Australian artist’s expansive sound. New single Night Boat is a prime example of the exhilaration that gushes forth from his mixture of chillwave, synthpop, and shoegaze. Though murky nebulous and dreamy hazy, Night Boat is a chromatic and vivid magic carpet ride, its kaleidoscope palette made up of M83 grandeur, Neon Indian psychedelics, and Washed Out fog.
