Got Gary's charger back today. Activating its tracking device and having K8-T3 hunt down the culprit worked. Sort of.
Turns out, nobody actually took it. I'd accidentally left it in Deej's barracks when I took her home after our date last weekend.
She told me she came back to her bunk last night to discover eight of her roommates cowering in the corner, while all seven feet of Katie towered over them, scolding them for being liars and thieves and ordering them to repent for their crimes.
She said three of them peed themselves. Two of them found religion. The others wouldn't look at me when we passed in the hallway today.
Oops.
I don't know if Katie assumed they took it because it was in their room, or if she was just on a power trip. Either way, I have a crap ton of cookies to bake and several relationships to repair. So, uh...see you later.

Yes, I probably should have been taught how to swim during my training days. But, as a repair trooper, I was never really meant to travel anywhere much wetter than the garden center at the Space Station Depot. Also the Finalizer didn’t get a pool until I was, like, twenty-seven, and the officers back at the training facility wouldn’t let me join the beginner classes with the six-year-olds at that point.
The instructors said I was too much of a bad influence on the younglings just because I cried when they made me jump off the high dive on the first day.
Doing maintenance on the pool wasn’t too hard, at least. I just had to wear First Order issue water wings when I was unclogging the filter.
Some of the combat troops got shipped out to some place called “Galaxy’s Edge” recently.
It sounds terrible, to be honest. Like the name of a dusty, barren planet in the Outer Rim or a shitty dive bar on some barely habitable asteroid.
Whatever. They seem really excited about being stationed there, and who am I to step on their joy?
Thought I had a lead on the person that sabotaged my plumbing when I overheard one of the combat troops say something about “destroying a toilet.”
Turns out he just ate too much of Cookie’s “Surprise Meat Burgers” and his digestive system was paying the price.
