Many of the objects displayed in "Off the Wall: American Art to Wear" were created in response to events in the lives of the makers and those around them. The tiny plastic toy soldiers meticulously stitched on a quilted vest helped Sheila Ghidini, an interdisciplinary artist, channel the anger she felt over a failed relationship. See this work on view now in the Perelman Building.
