The year is 2023. Two world-ending, universe threatening catastrophes. The Avengers face Thanos, a Titan on a mission to delete half of humanity with the literal snap of his fingers. The Justice League battle Darkseid, a tyrant who has claimed countless planets and universes and aimed to claim Earth as his next trophy.

Tony Stark saves the world - but everyone and their cousin has heard some version of that story by now. This is not that story. This is not that happy ending, whatever it might have looked like: those that had been snapped out of existence or had died in the fight were brought back to life. Five years' damage undone, and all it cost was a small, simple, overlooked catastrophe.

With the Blip, Darkseid had vanished - literally, poof, dust to dust. With the reversal, Tony Stark snapped into existence Darkseid's work: a virus that would destroy all of humanity, an equation-turned-organic-virus that would ruin them all. Leave it to another playboy, genius, philanthropist hero to make the sacrifice play, destroying the Batcave and the virus. Famous last words: stay vigilant.

The year is 2025. In the wake of Batman's martyrdom, the Magistrate, having made swift work of taking over Gotham, spreads its tentacles ever wider. Vigilantism is outlawed, full stop. Peacekeepers are anything but peaceful, head-hunting heroes, vigilantes, and all those that wear masks. What remains of the Justice League and the dregs of the Avengers are at odds. A warning comes from the future, one that will force the world’s heroes back to action in a race against the clock to undo the sins of the past with decisions to make: set aside bygones, make unlikely allies and survive or allow the Anti-Life equation to take over the Earth.
