Dan Mendoza, creator of Zombie Tramp, and Action Lab announced they have reached an agreement that will allow Mendoza to take back full control of the character and publish it himself. Under the agreement, Action Lab Entertainment will finish and release a final seven-issue run of the Zombie Tramp comic book issues it has been producing, which it plans to complete by next summer.

Tim Drake, Batman’s third Robin, made headlines this week after saying yes to a date with a boy. Polygon reports on the newest member of the Bat family to join the LGBTQ+ community, as Susanna Polo talks with Meghan Fitzmartin, writer of the story that appeared in last Wednesday’s Batman: Urban Legends:
“The greatest thing about working with an established IP,” Fitzmartin told Polygon, “is that there are so many story decisions for characters that have already been made for you (often by people much smarter than you). [“Sum of Our Parts”] happened because this is who Tim is. I love this character very much, and as I went back to reread as much as I could to do Robin justice, it became clear this is the story Tim needed to tell.”

Two graphic novels were awarded Lammys, the Lambda Literary Awards: Mike Curato’s Flamer took the prize for LGBTQ Young Adult, and Bishakh Som’s Apsara Engine won the LGBTQ Comic award.

Underground cartoonist S. Clay Wilson, creator of the Checkered Demon, Captain Pissgums and his Pervert Pirates, and numerous other transgressive characters, all of whom he wedged into his signature hyper-detailed panels, has died at the age of 79. Wilson grew up in Nebraska and eventually moved to San Francisco, where he was a contributor to Zap Comics and an integral part of the underground comix scene. He suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2008 and the condition worsened in 2010.
