Green Lantern (1990) #120 - Someone has mistakenly colored Donna to look like Jade.
I'm reading mandalorian comics yayyy (long post and spoilers ig)
read open season 3 times already but like
you tell me he's 14 in this panels
I'm used to comics artists drawing teenagers like they're hitting their 30s (especially dc artists. poor jason that looks like he has two kids and a beer addiction), but until I searched for his age I genuinely thought Jango was 20 something here
I have itty bitty horns because I'm EVIL
I love how mandalorians like to threaten everyone. Like yeah tell em. Tell em
he's batshit crazy. man did you just hold ur breath and flew over to spaceship
me running to steal his balls
eepy
this panel is so fucking funny. Me leaving my online friends for 9/5 ig
oookay that's all. I'm gonna read another things that feature mandalorians and move to clones because I love them a lot. maybe I'll make another post like that
action comics #4 my beloved btw.
it's really impossible to pick out singular good caps from this issue, but action comics #4 is genuinely like. the blueprint of clark kent/superman to me.
he rescues a miner AND the would-be rescuers from a cave-in at a poorly-maintained mine, and in doing so discovers how poorly-maintained the mine is; brings the miner (stanislaw kober), who was seriously injured, to the hospital; and later goes to interview him as clark kent for the newspaper. he finds out the miners' boss knew the mine was poorly maintained and threatened to fire the men working there - low-income, immigrants, desperate to take care of their families thus working a dangerous job because they have no other choice - and profited off their backs. clark then goes to talk to the mine owner himself, and said owner refuses to provide a pension for the miner that physically cannot work anymore and BLAMES HIM for his own injury. at most they'll pay Most of his hospital bills and maybe give him a $50 retirement bonus.
clark is pissed. he dresses as one of the miners and goes to the owner's home, sees he's hosting a party, gets caught by security, and the owner decides first to have security beat the shit out of him then toss him out, but ends up deciding instead to have this miner give him and his rich hoity-toity guests a tour of the mine.
so, naturally, clark decides to cause another cave-in!
is this normal behavior? is this a rational decision to make? NO!!! but clark does it anyway, because he has a motherfucking POINT TO PROVE!!!
the rich people freak the fuck out. the owner tries to calm them down, says there's SAFETY DEVICES! by golly they'll be saved by the safety devices!!! ...except they don't work. they're rusted over. so everyone freaks the fuck out on the owner again, they try LITERALLY MINING THEIR WAY OUT - not before the owner tells fake-miner clark to do it all on his own, of course - but they're all weak as fuck, they all acknowledge the miners work in terribly hard conditions, the owner says oh woe is me if i had the chance to go back i'd do things differently...
sorry just really needed to put bitchy clark in here. i love him.
so then, as all the rich people pass out, clark digs a path that meets the actual miners halfway. the day is SAVED, the rich people get out alive, the owner completely changes his tune and promises to have the safest mine in the country ... and clark kent fulfills his petty quota for the week.
he exists to be an absolute bitch to capitalists and fascists in ye early days of olde superman and i love him so much. like truly clark kent is a darling until you're a horrible person and then he is just the pettiest motherfucker around. it's so very midwestern of him. so very kansas-core. his mama and papa raised him RIGHT on the kent farm.
i've been wanting start reading Marvel comics for a long time, but every time I actually decide to do it, I realize how much there is, get overwhelmed and promptly read nothing. So...
Is there any kind soul on Tumblr that would maybe be willing to guide me a bit? I'm mainly interested in Captain America, all the Captain Americas actually, but also everything Steve Rogers and everything Winter Soldier, and I've heard there are some comics from the MCU universe? And whatever it is where Bucky has a cat.
I'm big on consuming my media in the order of release so I don't accidentally spoiler myself and all the twists are actuallly twists for me, but there seems to be quite a lot even if I narrow it down to a few characters.
Help? Please? Is what I'm asking for even realistic? Are there maybe some comics completely unrelated to any other?
The little voice in my head is telling me to give up on 90's DC comics (Tim & Kon) and just go read the entirety of Jon Kent's reading order and I am that close 👌to listen to it
I had no idea Scoob and Shag had gone in hiatus so now i am cough up and also in agony.
