RIP to Comicstorian/Mangastorian. His videos were what first got me interested in DC and Marvel stuff a little bit more than I usually would. I still remember buying my first Gotham Academy comic because of him.

Pausing for a moment to say RIP to Ben, AKA Comicstorian on YouTube. Who passed away today.
If youre in the DC/Marvel/Comic book fandom. We lost an absolute TITAN of a YouTube Content Creator.
My husband came into the living room just screaming "no f****** way no f****** way. No shot!"
He watched Comicstorian religiously. And even went to one of his live events
Holy s*** am I going to miss you dude.
Rest in peace, Comicstorian, AKA Ben Potter. You were a huge reason why I got into comics, especially Red Hood. I wouldn't have started writing my stories had it not been for your videos. Thank you for all the years of laughs and joy.
This is actually crazy to find out. It's because of this guy and his channel that I learned a lot about Marvel and comics. I didn't have access to most of Marvel's library like I do now, and most of their popular arcs and character origins were explained in a fun, informative way by his videos. He had such an excitement over discussing each comic and storyline, matching the energy that the writers intended with their works that made it a little infectious. I eventually stopped watching for no particular reason other than I just...moved on. It had nothing to do with the quality of his videos, they were still informative. It's just that after getting access to read Marvel's expansive library, all I wanted to do was just...read those comics instead of having them explained to me. And I wouldn't have better knowledge about my new favorite heroes if not for his works.
I hope he's resting in peace and that his family and loved ones make it through this tragedy.
Ben Potter, otherwise known as Comicstorian, has passed away. According to his wife Nathalie Potter, on June 8th he was in an unfortunate accident and lost his life.
fuck man…
Ben Potter aka Comicstorian Has Passed Away
"Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident. To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he'd reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it. He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else's. Right now my priority is preserving everything he's built and I don't have any plans beyond that. His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn't want it to end like this. Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube. The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive. We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I'm not about to stop now."

Benny from Comicstorian has passed away.
I’ve been watching his videos and subscribed to Comicstorian since 2016. My little brother watches his videos everyday. I’ve never met Benny, but I feel like he’s been a part of my life for a long time; with many others saying that he’s been a major part of their childhoods.
His story is inspirational to me; how he was a former veteran who got medically discharged from the army after breaking both his ankles in a pretty bad way (his ankles were previously broken causing shards of bone to get jammed into his joints, causing his ankles to lock up and further chip the bones; on top of that, the army did not giving him leave to let them heal and making him finish his tour), using the money he got paid from the army to cover his medical to support him and his wife to make YouTube videos. And I love his reason for making Comicstorian, how he used to read comics and the wikis online to learn more about them and used what he learned to make his YouTube channel, just so he could find people online to talk about comics with. Please watch the video about how he made Comicstorian.
I’d also like to credit Benny for getting me into Berserk through his old videos on Mangastorian. His narration of Berserk really pushed me into reading the manga.
Comicstorian was the first YouTube channel I ever subscribed to. Before I was to watch youtube or even had an account, I would watch Ben, and he is a big reason for my love and knowledge of comic books.
My prayers are with his family. May he rest in peace.
