So you’re telling me we really went from Skaikru becoming the thirteenth clan to Wonkru falling apart and there now being like 16 clans all because of a Commander (respectively) but the only person who could actually unite everyone was Octavia...an illegal existing sky person??

I’ve been super confused by the whole “Clarke is the key” thing. Specifically because they should have seen in Octavias memories that Madi has (because O doesn’t know it was removed).

In the back-door pilot, Becca mentions something about connecting with the correct mind. I don’t remember the exact words but it was something along the lines of “the flame brings out more of who you are” also “if put in the wrong mind it can do great harm” (or something like that). This leads me to believe that maybe just maybe the reason Clarke is the key is because her mind works perfectly with the flame for what ever reason.

Maybe madis fear towards the flame is why her mind was weaker when connected to it and why she couldn’t control the memories, dreams, and other commanders. Maybe Clarke is the perfect choice for the flame and that’s why Cadogan thinks she is the key even though they should know she doesn’t have it.

This is just my theory about why it’s Clarke not Madi. No hate to either of them I love them both. Feel free to correct me if anything I said was wrong.
