          “The Chantry can be kind of garbage, can’t it?”  It’s a kindness, even if the words indicate cruelty more than mercy.  But she imagines that perhaps the other might also have faced hardships at the hands of the Chantry ------- she had wished to be a Templar, no?  “Supposed to be about love and kindness, but instead it seems more like all it does is turn away anyone who isn’t perfect.  Garbage.”

           “I don’t need your lecturing,” she says, before Inara can manage a single syllable.  She knows damn well what this is about, and that even if it justified and right and they have GOOD REASON to be angry ------- what does it matter?  Her mother is dead and she couldn’t protect her and she’s failed again so what is there left to talk about?  “Just go.”

         “It’s been FAR too long since I’ve been publicly intoxicated.”  She’s --- clearly got something of a head start, if the subtle slur between her syllables is to be believed.  She extends her hand, tankard within it, to the other with a grin.  “You want to join me, Warden?”  If she gets DRUNK ENOUGH, maybe she can forget HAWKE’S FACE.

          “We have something in common, Warden.”  She’s smiling, though a kind of mourning lingers around her dark brown eyes.  “Duncan has saved both our lives.”

      “ What’s it like, back in Denerim ? “ She can’t help but ask, insatiable curiosity at a time like this. The last city she knew, lived in, was faded and painted by only childhood memories.  “ We had books about it in the circle, but never anything that ... Well ... described it.” 

     History, dates and times, tales, yet none of them ever chewed on the scenery.

“Who are you and what have you done to Warden-Commander Inara?” she did not simply give compliments and praise.  Mostly he was used to her giving back-handed compliments that you had to squint at before you understood she was complimenting you.

Urgh this seems like such a broad subject because I’m talking about them for somewhat different reasons. Alice and Merc are those people that despite having shitty days themselves they will get out of their way, go into people’s inboxes and ask either the muse questions or just leave anons to keep people going on their shitty days ( just thank you for both of you, I’ve had a couple of bad days where a simple question or just being wonderful has made it so much better ). As for Erran, it’s really just impossible not to get pumped about writing with Erran when discussing any plot, it’s absolutely wonderful the sort of motivation that basically shoots through your brain everytime. And finally, Wendy. Sigh, I will follow Wendy into the ends of the earth, such an incredible person and writer, always such a kind word to give and someone that actually cares and reads about your characters. I cannot put into words how important it was to realise ( back in the day, in the beginning of this account ) that someone took the time to read my drabbles. I will never really be able to thank you all enough <3
