data + cooking!!!

while Data has no real capacity to enjoy food himself, he has observed that his fellow officers enjoy getting together for a shared meal occasionally. Data often joins them. Riker usually does the cooking and sometimes Troi will bring dessert. Data likes the idea of hosting something like this, so one day he asks Riker if he would give Data a cooking lesson.

It turns out Data is pretty good at cooking. He doesn’t have an imaginative flair, he just follows the directions exactly, but hey so do most people. Riker of course instructs him to be more imaginative, you know just throw some stuff in there, and this results in the worst scrambled eggs man has ever known. Data doesn’t understand what went wrong, but Geordi explains that some flavors just really don’t go together even when they’re amazing apart and there’s a line between sweet and savory that should only rarely be crossed by professionals. So then Data reads like every cook book ever and watches a bunch of Julia Child.

The Enterprise has been very busy for like a month and everything is very stressful, so Data thinks it might be nice to have the officers over for dinner to give them an hour to chill. With Geordi’s help, he puts together a nice meal with things from several different appropriate cultures (some Klingon shit, some French shit, etc) and it’s definitely a success. It doesn’t ever really become a tradition though because everyone’s always so busy.

What does become a tradition is pot luck meals with nerd squad aka Data, Geordi, Wesley, Barclay, and O’Brien. So Data always brings something to those.

ad block plus blocks all youtube ads maybe give that a try?

I have adblock but I should've specified - this happens when I'm watching youtube via the xbox, and there's no adblock option so I just kind of have to not pay attention :|

Oh wow, that sucks. I hope its just not fast now because it's currently only the first year students on campus, and then slow down once everyone is here.
