so so cruel how sam thought he was free at stanford and it was a lie. young, fumbling, hopeful sam building a friend group and a life and a good relationship and beginning fresh. leaving the past behind, learning and growing, not knowing his friends were replaced by demons, his life doomed, his girlfriend's literal days numbered. stalked and hunted and fated, written in his blood, and he had no clue. for a brief, beautiful moment he was making his own stab at freedom but it was so fleeting that most of it was a mirage.

huge fan of wincest when it is just "love, family, whatever it is", no overt sexual attraction, just "psychotic, irrational, erotic codependency", toeing the line of what is acceptable, tension but no resolution, blurred lines between pleasure and pain, self-enforced power dynamics within familial roles, chafing against those roles but seeking it anyway
sometimes dean looks at sam with the most insane, dazed, goner expression and it's like. ohhh he's in LOVE love with sam, got it, got it, but then the next moment he's throwing her to the wolves or beating her up or emotionally abusing her or all at once and then it's. actually dean does not deserve to be in her presence ever again.

need to write more samjohn. theyre always on my mind. i blame jeffrey dean morgan and jared padalecki for having absolutely insane chemistry together onscreen. like i sometimes forget dean is even in those scenes because he is irrelevant. sam and john are having a weepy big cow eyes contest and all tense and bloody and emotionally-high with each other. theyre so hot. the age gap is kinda barely there with jdm and jackles but between jarpad and jdm it is a bit more believable. also the insane affection under the fraught tension... yum. YUM! they should have filmed them kissing and making out. release the tapes ik it is out there
