Have I told you, Babes, how much I love and appreciate you?
You are all amazing, talented, and loving people.
Honestly, I feel blessed to know you guys. Strange and unusual as we are for loving a dead dude, this is the best community I have ever been a part of, and I don't regret it one bit.
Keep creating. Keep being awesome and continue to support one another in these trying times.
So I’ve been watching community during quarantine, and in the show, Donald Glover’s (childish gambino) character is a jw, which I keep forgetting because he isn’t acting like a jw, not a “spiritual” one anyways, but the thing that bothers me is that Donald Glover was actually raised as a witness. Now I don’t know his experience with the organization, but didn’t he explain to the writers and producers how being a witness actually is? That’s what I would’ve done for sure. But I guess they just wanted to use that fact for humor. The show is about a bunch of college students so that’s not a very realistic scenario in the first place. I think my problem is that it normalizes witnesses as just another religion. Made up of normal people that go to college and live normal lives, when in fact it is so much more culty and controlling than that. Witnesses aren’t normal people, they’re victims of a dangerous cult. Idk I guess it just bothers me seeing witnesses being used as the butt of the joke while treating the religion like any other religion. But I probably just shouldn’t take it so seriously. And it doesn’t come up too often. The show is still enjoyable despite that.

wearing gear in public 🍃 Personally, I usually wear my gear whenever I'm going on a walk that isn't somewhere really near to where I live - my attitude towards it is "well, I'm never going to see these people again, and if I do, I'm unlikely to talk to them." , and it works pretty well for me :) 🍃 I've only ever had positive comments from it, wether it be children asking what it is and if they can stroke it (most of the time, I say yes, as long as they've got clean hands and stuff. I find it really sweet :,0) or just people in general wondering why I'm wearing it. 🍃 There are some places I honestly wouldn't recommend wearing obvious gear to, though, such as schools. Kids can be cruel, and there's nothing you can do about it - most of the time, it doesn't conform with the dress code anyways, and it's likely to get pulled on or broken, depending on the people in your school. If you feel like wearing it could make you unsafe, don't do it :,) some people are just salty about anyone being slightly out of the ordinary.
