All or Nothing
I never do anything I’m committed to halfway. I can’t half-ass things that matter to me. It’s not in my nature, especially when it comes to love. When I love, I love fiercely, passionately, and all the way. I don’t dip my toe in the water first, I cannonball into it. That’s why I hate small talk. When I get to know people, I want to KNOW that person. I want to know them as deeply as I can so I can love them even deeper. I crave deep and meaningful connections. I hate shallow or luke-warm anything. The middle is a terrible place to live. Once I decide to love someone, romantic or platonic, I love them as fully and completely as I can. I embrace their flaws and have miles of compassion for when they fall short or disappoint me. Even if they hurt me, I’m very much inclined to try anything to work it out first. I struggle at times with the lack of permanence people have in my life. I want to keep them, the love forever. My mind and my life are like a big family dinner table. Everyone I've ever loved comes in, pulls up a chair, and gets comfy. As I've gotten older the table's gotten much bigger but there are quite a few empty chairs. I notice them all and I feel that emptiness they left, but I'll never take anyone's chair from my table. I can’t bring myself to do it. The chair and I will just wait patiently for them to come back and sit down again. If anything is to be done or felt, for me, it needs to be done or felt wholly, completely, and authentically or it shouldn’t be done in the first place.
What is the third step to change?
Part three of the life change formula is where intention becomes execution. This stage is built on the C.F.C. Principle which stands for Commitment, Focus, and Consistency. Without this step awareness stays theoretical and accountability never turns into results.
Once you have acknowledged that this is your life and taken responsibility for it you begin to see how your reality is formed through your thoughts emotions actions and results. That understanding alone is powerful but it is not enough. Change requires structure that can be lived out daily.
Commitment is the decision to stop negotiating with yourself. It is choosing growth even when it feels uncomfortable. Without commitment change remains a wish instead of a direction.
Focus is where your energy goes. What you give attention to you strengthen. When your focus is scattered your results are scattered. When your focus is intentional your actions begin to align and your internal state starts to shift.
Consistency is what turns progress into stability. Anyone can change for a day. Consistency is what retrains your nervous system rewires your habits and builds trust with yourself. This is how momentum is created and maintained.
This principle is not about control. Control is an illusion. It is about influence. When commitment sets your direction focus guides your daily choices and consistency reinforces them over time you stop reacting to life and start shaping it.
You can apply this today by choosing one committed action focusing fully on it and repeating it until it becomes part of who you are. That is how potential becomes reality.

Sometimes things look like a sure thing. We get excited for something to happen and can’t imagine anything going wrong. This metaphor can be extended to many things like Don’t spend money before you have it. Don’t commit your time that you don’t have. Don’t talk trash when you can’t back it up.

We don’t believe in a wrestling “season”. Any time of the year is the right time to work towards your goals. Developing skills in any activity takes time, repetition and effort. If you are serious about wrestling, make that choice to commit. Keep learning as much and as often as you can. #WWC365 #committ (at Wrestling With Character) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRFrUhBMacZ/?utm_medium=tumblr
