Yay! Communication book done!

Layout is based on June's TD Snap book. I changed some symbols, modified some words and layouts, then printed, laminated and bound it :) I learned a lot from just this first project!

I'm happy I have a way more robust light tech way to communicate in situations where I can't have my heavy tech.

Took a bit but we got it done. It's a bit, chaotic because all three of us hosts worked on it but we all like it and that's what matters. Can't do an ID right now unfortunately because brain soup but as always if anyone IDs it before we can it will be added to original post.

Kiku got Kiku's picture card binder! Kiku is sooooooo happy with it. It's great (it's bigger than expected but Kiku isn't a great judge of size😅). There's so many cards, it's so tactile, can just hand someone a card. It's so great. Kiku is super happy with it. ☺️

*giggles* Kiku has limited number picture cards so have be creative with how say things but it work most time 😆😅

Kiku had something come up and Kiku had to use some of the crowdfunded money for it unfortunately, so Kiku isn't going to be able to get the ipad unfortunately (Kiku was only about half way to the goal anyway). But the leftover money everyone donated will be going to communication aids. Thank you to everyone who donated. Kiku still wants (and needs) the bigger ipad but Kiku is going to try to get it another time. The ipad will be in Kiku's wishlist (linked in Kiku's intro post) if someone wants to get it for Kiku.

Since Kiku can't currently get the ipad Kiku is looking into low tech aac to supplement Kiku's talker. So far Kiku is looking at a picture card communication book and communication cards. If anyone has suggestions for low/light tech aac that would be great. All the low tech aac stuff Kiku currently has is homemade and flimsy. Kiku eventually wants to get a alphabet board but currently that isn't a goal because one of Kiku's partners can't process things being spelled out very well.

I really want to make a communication binder. It’d be useful for out littles but mostly not because we already struggle to use our usual type of AAC around people so it seems like money and effort without much of a point. But they’re so fun to make!! We might do communication cards as a compromise but !! We might end up making one just as a nerd moment

Husband got me robust low-tech communication book for Christmas because sometimes I have problems with high tech and there's been a big gap in my AAC (No symbol options if I can't use my devices! I only have a letter board and writing) and I love it! Love him so much love that he loves to help me and wants me to communicate in the best way for me.
