FIVE HABITS TO KEEP AS WE RE-ENTER THE WORLD
The Covid19 quarantine has shown us that rapid improvement in our environment is possible when our travel and consumerism are markedly reduced.
Here are five habits that we should all keep as we re-enter the world. These habits are better for our own health and that of our planet.

1) Keep Zooming, walking and biking. Each time we avoid an unnecessary trip, we avoid burning fossil fuels. Each gallon of gasoline burned puts 18 lbs. of CO2 into the air.
2) Keep making grocery lists. Previously, 30-40% of our food went into the trash. But recently, we’ve learned to eat everything and wasted much less food.
3) Keep avoiding needless spending. We’ve learned what are necessities and what are not.
4) Make meat the exception, not the rule.
5) Trust science. There are real risks we can’t see until it’s too late. That’s something we can apply to climate change, as well.
WORLD TURTLE DAY was recognized at the end of May. Turtles are an important part of our ecological system so do your best to protect them, especially when driving.
