I'm not an English speaker, but this is just weird.

It reminds me of the old joke about Soviet and US president having a competition running around Kremlin. Next day there's an article in papers about it saying: The US president didn't lose, and the Soviet one finished in lovely second place.

Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

In many languages, some adjectives are comparable – comparison of adjectives. For example, a person may be “intelligent”, but another person may be “more intelligent”, and a third person may be the “most intelligent” of the three. The word “more” here modifies the adjective “intelligent” to indicate a comparison is being made, and “most” modifies the adjective to indicate an absolute comparison (a superlative).

I try not to be the grammar police to people not asking for my advice, but since that is my actual job (and there’s a new national initiative with a title that may confuse some people):

 You can "be good"

 You can "be better"

but if you want to use a superlative adjective, you need the article "the," so you can Be THE Best

I have a question. for those Russian speakers among you! If I were to say ‘more useful skills’, would i be able to say ‘полезнее навыки’ or is that form reserved only for single things, and I’d be better to use ‘более полезные навыки’? :-)
