Summary:  A soulmate is the perfect complement to your soul, his mother had told him as a child. But it does not always mean you have to be in love with them.

He is not in love with Wei Wuxian. They both know this, have known this since the beginning, and still Wei Wuxian had chosen to come.

My comments:  Wwx spends a year tending to lwj's golden core, because only his soulmate can fix its injuries... but lwj is afraid of a soulbond (he has only his parents for a role model) and rejects wwx as soon as he's fully recovered. Wwx is heartbroken, of course, and returns to Lotus Pier and goes into seclusion. Lwj, meanwhile, begins to realize that he's missing something, and that maybe he was wrong about soulbonds being detrimental after all.

For the first time in a very long while, Leah and I have a new video up on the Queerly Christian YouTube channel! This is a chill, fun one to help us get back into the swing of it. 

A lot of it is the two of us just being goofy together, because we talk about how a big part of coming to truly believe that God celebrates queer love was actually experiencing it -- hopefully viewers can see the goodness of our love in this video!

cw: we’re making cookies in the video, so there is of course food mentioned and briefly shown in the video. We also talk a little about homophobic views and very briefly mention sex, dysphoria, and cissexism. 

Newlyweds Avery and Leah make cookies while chatting about their honeymoon as well as about their relationship, which is one founded in communication and love and full of laughter, your standard bickering, and mutual growth and support.   

They talk a bit about what it's like to be a partnership in which one person is cis and the other trans -- how Leah works to be a good ally to Avery. 

 They also discuss the theology of complementarianism of some non-affirming traditions, which argues that cis men and cis women have inherent roles that complement each other and thus a relationship with any other gender combination isn't legitimate. Avery and Leah argue that they complement each other just fine, even if "the parts don't fit," as one relative told them.
