[AJ] First Date. (Non-Dirty.)
Looking at yourself through the mirror within your bathroom, you did a last minute check on your makeup and your hair. You quickly tugged your skirt down and smoothed out any wrinkles, smiling at yourself to help boost your confidence as you studied the young woman that looked back at you in the reflection. You had spent two tedious hours making sure that you looked absolutely gorgeous for tonight, and you were damn sure that you did a great job at that.
With a strapless curve-hugging black dress and sheer tights, you felt that your wardrobe was a bit skimpy. Especially paired with the red heels, it seemed somewhat revealing. However, after sending a picture of yourself and showing it to one of your friends, she had said that if this AJ guy didn't ask you out again after this date, he was gay to begin with. You weren't too sure of her words, but you agreed with the fact that you looked a little more than decent.
Walking out of the bathroom and listening to your high heels click against the hardwood floor, you looked over at the clock and saw that it was around 7:19. However, as if right on cue, you heard a rhythmic knocking on your apartment door, and you smiled as you quickly realized that it was probably AJ. Opening it with a huge grin, you saw that your prediction was right, and he was standing in front of your doorway. With a nice looking dress shirt, a blazer to cover it, and black jeans, he looked casual, but still nice enough to go eat a fine restaurant.
"AJ!" you exclaimed cheerfully, opening your arms for a quick embrace. "You actually got here on time! 10 minutes early, actually."
"Of course," he chuckled, his taller figure making you stand on the tips of your toes even though you were wearing high heels. "That wouldn't make me much of a gentleman if I showed up late, would it?"
"No," you said, shaking your head as you let go of one another. "Let's leave now. Oh, let me grab a cardigan quickly. Wouldn't want to appear too 'scandalous' for the public."
"You look gorgeous tonight," you heard him comment as you ducked into your bedroom very quickly. "You probably don't even need it. Just leave it be."
"Ah, thank you," you grinned widely as you poked your head out from the frame of the doorway, looking at him as he stood in the middle of your living room. "You look great too. Are you sure though? It might get cold. I'll take one in case."
He merely raised an eyebrow at you and gave half a smile, a smirk almost. Looking down at the watch on his wrist, he shook his head and walked over to you, grabbing your hand and practically dragging you to the front door of your apartment.
"Come on, it's fine. I reserved us a table at the restaurant, so we should leave now."
"But-" Chuckling at you, he refused to listen to your stuttering pleas, and instead, gently pushed and directed you out of the apartment, plucking the keys right out of your hands as he locked the door behind you.
"You're no fun," you stuck your tongue out at him, only for him to roll your eyes at you in response.
"Oh, come on. You're silly," He smiled, before holding out an arm for you to take. "After you, madame."
Your lips curled up into a grin as you hooked your arm through his, and you walked with him to his car, hand in hand while laughing the entire way. You could only think of his charming personality, and how he seemed like a genuine and sincere person that would serve as the perfect boyfriend. You had originally been unsure of him when he first asked you out, because you were unfamiliar with him.
You had only met him through a friend, as he was the brother of another one of her friends. You two had hit off right away, and after a night of laughter and chatter at one of your friend's parties, you two exchanged numbers in a friendly gesture. However, it wasn't before long before he would text you day and night, constantly checking up on you and trying to make any conversation. And when he did ask you out perhaps two weeks later, you could only willingly oblige even if you two had only known each other for a short while.
It didn't seem like a bad idea at all, especially with the way that he was treating you - like a princess. When you arrived at the restaurant, he had quickly flown out of the driver's seat to reach your car door before you could open it yourself, and instead, made sure that he was the one to do it for you.
"Wow, you're really laying on the cheese tonight, aren't you?" You chuckled, taking his outstretched hand, feeling his fingers link through yours with a tight grip. His hand was warm and soft, and you gave it a quick squeeze in a playful manner.
"Pfft," he shot back. "It's not like you're not enjoying it."
"You're right, you're right," you replied, feeling him let go of your hand for a quick moment to open the door for you as you two entered the restaurant. It was a nice restaurant, with dim lights and pleasant classical music playing softly in the background. There was a low hum of collective conversation, and you could see the candles flickering and wavering at each table.
"Party of two, AJ?" He said as he walked over to the receptionist, retaking your hand and towing you behind him. The woman nodded and held up a finger, gesturing for you two to wait a bit.
"AJ, I thought we were going to a cafe or something," you said softly, wide eyed as you took in the fancy environment around you.
"What, you don't like this place?" he replied, frowning slightly as he let his other hand rest gently on your hip. "We could always go somewhere else to your liking."
"No, no," you said, shaking your head. "This place is fine."
AJ opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by a waitress that was approaching you. She was a pretty little thing, perhaps around the same age as you and AJ. With her red lips and high pony tail, you couldn't help but feel a bit jealous even though she was only wearing a waitressing outfit.
"AJ, party of two, yes?" She said, smiling and motioning to the both of you with two menus. Even her voice was nice and silky, and you couldn't help but think of those dramas where the boy ended up falling head over heels for the waitress rather than his original date. Crossing your fingers behind your back in hopes that the situation wouldn't progress to that, you heard AJ clear his throat.
"Yes," he nodded. You looked up at him uneasily as the three of you began walking towards your table with the waitress in the lead, and he shot you a beaming smile that seemed to eradicate any of those fears.
The two of you sat down, and after the waitress left, you and AJ were having a light conversation as the both of you looked over your menus. As always, he was entertaining to listen to and to talk to, and time seemed to fly by extremely fast, one sign that told you that you were definitely having fun.
However, there was one aspect of the date that was very irritating for you. As suspected, the waitress was a huge flirt, and it seemed like you were the only one with the sour mood every time she came over to serve your table. You watched her as she subtly flipped her hair or leaned in closer to AJ, and everything she did went unnoticed to him.
You could even hear the change of her tone when she began talking to you, and it ticked you off even more when AJ continued on being his friendly self, laughing and smiling with her as you sat in your chair with an imaginary rain storm over your head. You only brought it to his attention during the middle of your meal when you put your fork down and looked at him until he did the same, a questioning expression on his face.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked softly, genuine concern in his voice.
"Nothing," you smiled lightly. "I was just thinking about our waitress..."
"What about her?" AJ asked, very puzzled.
"She's just really pretty," you shrugged, breaking eye contact from him and letting your view swivel across the room as you looked for her. "I wouldn't be surprised if you run off with her after dinner."
With that last word, AJ unexpectedly broke out into soft laughter, shaking his head as he reached over the table and placed his hand over yours. Raising an eyebrow, you were waiting expectantly for an answer as he quieted himself down and wiped away his tears with his fingers.
"Yah," He grinned widely, gently squeezing your hand. "Don't worry about it. Don't be so paranoid."
"I really didn't expect you to get jealous!" he continued, cutting you off. "I'm kind of glad that you did though."
"Wait, what?" You said, somewhat dazed.
"I was only acting that way to see how you would respond." He explained, taking your hand and clasping it in both of his hands. "All that laughing and smiling back was fake, so don't worry. I would never go for a girl like her, someone that would try to flirt with a guy especially when he was obviously on a date."
"You're evil," you pouted, feeling a soft blush coming on your cheeks from semi-embarrassment that you would get jealous like that.
"Am I?" He laughed again. "You're so much more beautiful than she is, so I was confused why you even felt envious. Compared to you, she's nothing."
"Really now?" You replied softly, looking down at the white tablecloth as you felt your blush growing even stronger.
"Don't look down. Look at me."
Shyly, you raised your eyes to meet his, and you watched as the corners of his lips curled into what seemed like a cat-like smile, a grin of playfulness as he gave your hand a gentle squeeze. Unfortunately, the waitress chose to interrupt the moment, barging in with her fake and cheerful, "Do you guys need anything?"
AJ only shook his head somewhat coldly, and you watched the waitress slink away in defeat. The rest of the dinner went by fantastically, filled with laughter and conversation that you felt could go on for years and years. AJ regarded the waitress somewhat stiffly, and was only as friendly as he had to be. This made you feel giddy with happiness, knowing that he outrightly chose you over her, and you ignored the piercing glances that the waitress sent your way.
However, things began to bubble up once more when the check came, and as soon as it was laid upon the table, you failed to notice AJ snatching it away immediately. You reached into your clutch to pull out your wallet, and pulled out a couple of 10,000 won notes. As you were about to put them on the table, you noticed the missing tab, and you could only give AJ a blank stare.
"I'm not letting you pay a single won for this meal." AJ said, raising his eyebrow as he matched your stare.
"You've got to be kidding me, AJ." You sighed, laying the notes on the tables anyway. "Don't be like that. I'm not going to force you to pay for everything on the first date."
"No." He said firmly, shaking his head as he pushed the notes back towards you.
"AJ..." You tried to give him the most threatening stare that you could muster, but he only continued to raise his eyebrow at you as he took out his wallet and began to flip through it for money. You attempted to grab it from him, but the length of the table was unforgiving, and you could only sit there in a huff as he paid the bill and let the waitress take his money.
"Come on, don't be mad." He tried to reason with you. "As a man, I need to pay for you."
"But I have my own money," you whined. "I want to pay too."
"Fine," he sighed. "Let's go out for ice cream after this. You can pay for that."
"But it's only ice cream and-"
"Take it or leave it," he smiled.
"Fine..." You replied in a huff, deciding to forgive AJ for his misdeeds. After dinner, the two of you walked out of the restaurant, holding hands and walking along merrily, much to the chagrin of the waitress. Even as you two walked down the busy sidewalk, the both of you were playful and somewhat giddy, nearly falling over yourselves with laughter as you made your way to the ice cream shop.
"Welcome!" The both of you were greeted by a server behind the ice cream bar as soon as you walked in, and the delicious flavors that were laid out began to make you internally drool.
"I could eat everything in here!" AJ exclaimed, almost running over to look at the ice cream flavors behind the glass panes, dragging you along as you giggled at his statement.
"What do you want?" you asked him as you joined him and pressed your face against the glass as well, looking at the different tubs of the sweet treat. "I think I'm going to go for the green tea."
"Hmm," He mused, his eyes still looking over the many flavors. "I think rocky road."
The both of you walked over to the cashier and AJ looked almost unhappy when you fished out your wallet and paid for the ice cream, and you could only stick your tongue out at him in victory. However, his eyes lit back up when he was handed a towering cone of rocky road ice cream, and your eyes grew wide as you wondered how he could possibly finish such a huge serving.
You had ordered a small cone, and even that seemed like way too much after eating such a full dinner.
"Cheers!" AJ said, pretending to clink his cone with yours, and you laughed at his antics.
"Cheers!" you replied, grinning widely as the two of you joined hands once more and strolled out of the shop, making your way to a nearby park as the both of you enjoyed your ice cream cones. It was almost silent at the park, save for a few people who went on night strolls with their dogs, and you and AJ found a comfortable park bench in one of the more secluded areas of the place.
"That looks sort of good," you said as you looked over at AJ's ice cream cone. Before he realized it, you stole a small lick.
"Hey!" he pouted, poking you on the cheek. "That's not very nice!"
You smiled at him innocently and batted your eyes, pretending that you had done nothing wrong. However, he took a quick bite out of your cone in retaliation, and you pouted as well.
"That's not very nice either!" you whined, taking a finger and tapping him on the nose. Both of you broke into a soft laughter as he wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you in closer. You continued your conversation with him as the both of you finished your cones. You could feel his warm breath on you as the distance between you two was almost nonexistent.
However, small breezes began to blow in, and unconsciously, you shivered and pressed yourself against him in an attempt to become warmer.
"And then she said to me-"
"Hey," AJ frowned, cutting you off mid sentence. "Are you cold or something?"
"Hmm?" you replied, shrugging. "Well, I guess. I'm fine though, really."
Letting go of you for a split second, he took off his blazer and hung it around your shoulders before wrapping both of his arms around you and pulling you in close. Your head rested on the crook between his neck and his shoulder, and you blushed and smiled at his actions. AJ really was a sweet guy.
"There, is that better?" he asked. You could feel the vibrations of his voice more closely, and you liked the sound of it as you snuggled closer to him.
"Mhm," you replied softly, looking up at him. "Thank you for everything, AJ."
You tipped your head upward and planted a kiss on his cheek, watching him break into a wide smile immediately. However, you felt his hand lightly cup your face, and he leaned forward and pressed his lips against yours. They were warm and soft, and you almost melted in his arms as his grip on you became tighter.
As he pulled away, you looked at him in a daze, both of you smiling at one another like drunken idiots.
Uwah, that was really long, wasn't it? Sorry, but there was so much I wanted to put in it and I guess I got carried away...
AJ seems like a really sweet guy, so yeah, if you barfed from the fluff, I'm sorry!
