HAROLD NIGHT 2003, the interactive fiction of the UCB Theatre, is now available for the iPhone and iPad for FREE on the iTunes store.
(I EXPECT THERE ARE BUGS. Shouldn’t be many, and there should really not be any that actually stop the game. Please let me know if you find any.)
This is pretty much the same game which I wrote a few years ago, which is a text-only simulation of walking around the UCB Theatre in 2003, getting improv lessons from teachers, and then doing a scene. It’s hard to play! Requires lots of typing and abstract thought! Mention dozens of people you’ve never heard of!
changes for this release:
Christina Gausas is one of the teachers, and John Flynn is the bartender (he wasn’t in 2003, but screw it)
Anyway, for a very small percentage of you, this game will be a good time.
It works like this: the game describes a location. You can examine items in the room, or pick things up or give them to people or move to a new room.
That’s probably confusing. Um, Imagine if the main character in Ready Player One had to do an old-school text game?
Oh, it’s easier if you just try it.

You can also still play the game in a web browser: Harold Night 2003. (click “play in-browser”)
