[ monster because of monsters ];
At first, everyone was at peace. The humans occupied the land, spending their time farming, hunting and raising their young. The sea creatures took over the sea, going on about their daily lives as usual. One day the humans crossed the boundary between them and started hunting. The sea creatures were angry at first, but then they realized that the humans were only hunting the small fish by the edge of the sea and this was merely a new food source, not a declaration of war. Therefore, they allowed it and referred to the interaction as a trade. After all, sometimes those fishermen dropped beautiful offerings in the ocean in thanks to the sea god, who they assumed was watching over them.
For a hundred years this went on and both sides were happy. Then, one day, a rumor broke through this carefully kept agreement and sent everything into chaos. Someone begin to spread this idea of there being a treasure in the sea, guarded by fish creatures. Humans, powered by their greed, came forth to retrieve the said treasure and killed any fish that was along the way. The once beautiful blue-green ocean was tainted by their avarice and the garbage they tossed over board. So the sea creatures officially declared war. Any and every human who dared to cross to the sacred part of the ocean was hunted down, torn apart and consumed. Their blood would become a part of the sea as a warning to those after.
Nevertheless, people kept on coming. For the treasure that may or may not exist. As for sea creatures...They were getting dangerously addicted to the taste of human flesh. A few of them already started venturing towards the land, looking for victims.
Eren watched with cold eyes as yet another ship came this way, the people aboard singing as they sailed, so joyfully heading to their death. With a deep sigh he went to them, his teal scaled tail just visible in the clear water. "Turn back this instant!" He hollered. The ship halted when the people on it spotted him, the talking half fish. Eren rolled his eyes, never one to enjoy such attention. He was a half breed. Half sea creature and half human (dad fish, mom human. Dad is currently living in mom's pond during the day when he had to turn back to fish form). Very rare. Only experienced and intelligent sea creatures can turn into humans, and usually not for a long time, his father was impressive in his skills. With Eren, since he was a half breed, he could go full human, half and half or full sea creature. He preferred half and half because it allowed him to communicate with the humans without any sea creatures attacking him.
"If you continue this way, you will be attacked and eaten by gigantic sea monsters." Their full fish form was terrifying to humans. First of all, because they were so large. One splash from their powerful tails can drown a ship of people. Their teeth were sharper than knives and tore through anything and everything. Not a pretty sight.
