“Ever After High, Monster High, Winx Club, the Barbie movies, the Choices games (on the app), Star vs the forces of evil, Equestria Girls, Bratz, Steven Universe, the Avatar series and even Miraculous Ladybug have all inspired me to create my own magical girl series for all ages and genders. However, I honestly don't know where to start, being 22. I know it's going to take a lot of work. It's going to be hard to make a decent and good show that's aimed at toddlers, kids, and teens that DOESN'T ONLY exist for the sake of toys/dolls.
How could I know for sure that I won't lose control of my own show and will be able to do what I desire to it? I want the show to be my own and for everyone to enjoy it, but I know the CEOs won't allow it and it can very well just turn it into a bland/badly written mess that's aimed strictly for little girls and makes little to no sense. Yes, I care for the kids, but I want others to be able to enjoy it too (plus, kids aren’t dumb). At best, I want my show to be similar to Steven Universe and The Avatar series.
I want my show to teach great morals, have the wonderful representation of all kind like it deserves (Ethnicity, LGBTQ characters etc.), tackling sensitive subjects, make good and relatable characters for all kind, touch upon different kinds of platonic and romantic relationships, maybe have some songs and music segments to the show and just a whole lot more that can make the show the best it could be. I also have to be able to break out of my shell more, take proper criticism, respect people’s opinions, and listen to my fans. To top that off, I have to deal with SJWS, soccer moms, bigots and all that good stuff -__- I also want to strengthen my vocabulary, go to college and learn more about animation and production. And last, but certainly not least, I have to stay strong and not give up.
I really do want to be a cartoonist and create my own show. but I know that I have to work hard and be beware of the drawbacks. I have to have the skills, smarts, heart, and energy to follow this dream. I have to be able to stand on my own. So am I'm really qualified?”
