I think TNG suffered from how episodic it was. Geordi should've had long-term consequences for being brainwashed by Romulans. The Klingon Civil War should have just kept raging in the background in season 5, rather than being wrapped up in the premiere.

“I think a lot of people complaining about the gap between seasons forget that season 1 was a market tester. They've said before that they didn't prepare a second season in advance because they weren't sure how well they were going to do with season 1. They had to wait and see if they could actually get a following that could make them money because 3D animation isn't cheap?? Also, a year and a half isn't a long time to wait on a new cartoon. The creators are working as fast as they can. So hush!”
