I like how in Discovery groups of people (such as the crew of a ship or space station) are referred to as “souls.” It’s a nice way of being inclusive of different species and a reminder that they all have something in common, they’re intelligent beings who have souls. It’s one of the few ways that Discovery’s first season demonstrates the values of Star Trek as a whole.

“Catradora is so popular these days but in all honesty? I see their relationship more like Naruto and Sasuke’s (Naruto) and Rapunzel and Cassandra’s (Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure) relationships: despite being opposites (or the literal embodiments of yang and yin/sun and moon respectively in my opinion), they are akin to siblings. I admit I use to ship Catradora, but at its current state, it’s very toxic. So because it’s so toxic, I think it’s overrated. So at least for now, I ship Adora x Glimmer, a more healthy but underrated ship.”

“I just love the potential this show has even if it's more for a younger public, there are so many things that can be explored like the characters themselves. the mythology around the miraculous, upcoming abilities, all the superhero and secret identity shenanigans and the angst, though it's better reading angsty fanfics than actually seen it, because like I said, it's a kids' show.”
