So, Burnet do you have any theories why Ultra wormholes feature so prominently in alola?

“Well, I suspect that’s because the first Ultra Wormholes appeared in the Alola region. We hypothesize the energy from the Ultra Wormhole transfers into the air, cycles into the water system, and becomes part of the region’s ecosystem. Especially affecting the living auras of Pokemon like the Totem Pokemon, and that in turn attracts more dimensional anomalies. I have a chart back at the lab on the rate of occurrence between Totem Pokemon and Ultra Wormholes over time if you want to check that out.”

“I’ll look later… You say it affects living aura, huh? We’ve been calling it a radiation by the way it sheds energy but all of our predictions on the decay process have been wrong…”

Does astrophysics apply to alternate universes?

“You bet it does! And it’s a wide spectrum. Some people study the heavenly bodies we can see like the Sun and the Moon, others like myself study wormholes and dimensions.”

“(You know I’m not involved in those details. However you did publicly publish your research on the existence of Ultra Space during that time, which means it cleared through us. Discussions and research about other dimensions is fine and long standing, it’s the matters pertaining to Ultra Beasts which are classified.)”

“The Space Sight is the device you used to observe Ultra Space with right? Miss Wicke said she didn’t have enough notes salvageable to share about the Space Sight!”

“Yep, that’s the very one! I only call it a prototype because I hope I’m remembering the specs right.”

“I’d love to see it! My team and I have made some progress on our own but something about my devices are always a little odd.”

Why not prevent overuse by informing trainers of the consequences of overuse of mega evolution, along with the previous parameters you mentioned to make mega evolution as safe as possible for Pokemon AND trainers.

“Right! It should be in everyone’s best interest!”

“But showing enough people that the status quo is wrong can feel insurmountable at times. People’s bonds are so precious they act personally affronted when challenged with evidence their methods are hurting their Pokemon… I would sooner ask for Mega Evolution to be outright banned until an accountable system can be in place to protect these Pokemon.”

Mega evolution has been regulated in places like Kalos where it's bestowed by the Mega Evolution Guru

“I know about the Tower of Mastery, I did live in Kalos for a couple of years. Picking a trustworthy trainer with a strong bond surely is helpful to prevent abuse, but are these trainers aware of the damage they’re causing their Pokemon partners? Are they warned about the consequences of this power? Are special resources offered to their partner Pokemon to make sure they stay healthy and are not being pushed too far?”
