A small moment is taken to just appreciate the thoughtfulness, body moving on its own to sit down in his ( rather ridiculously plush ) desk chair. Blond hair falls around his shoulders as it hasn’t been pulled up yet, matching the gold of his Hanbok jacket. With gentle but practiced fingers he pulls open the envelope carefully, sliding the card out from the inside. Briefly there’s an annoyed tick of his left eye because of course Bruce hadn’t added any actual braille to the letter. Why would that man, his boss and the adopted father of his partner, ever make shit easy for him? Huffing out a sigh Dexter brushes his thumbs carefully over the top, focusing just enough to pick up the cursive lettering. At least he pressed hard enough with that signature fountain pen to make it easy for him to read, though towards the end he wasn’t exactly sure if what he read was correct. Dexter went over the letter again and again, cheeks coloring ever so slightly in pure shock. A night off ⸻ a real night off, something that he hasn’t allowed himself in god knows how long either. Already the alchemist is standing up, the letter deposited carefully with the rest of his precious keepsakes as he pulls out his phone, dictating a text message to the man.
