The majestic Tintern Abbey was founded by the awe-inspiring William Marshal in 1203 AD. William Marshal--aka the Earl of Pembroke--aka Lord Marshal--aka "the greatest knight that ever lived." He died a Knight's Templar, serving under five different Kings, and held a legendary record of besting 500 knight's during his tourneying career. I'm fascinated by history, and the lives of those that preceded us. With all the monumental obstacles they faced, and the amount of incredible feats they accomplished, it makes you ponder complaints about sitting in traffic, and having a bad day at work. William Marshal survived a crusade, life-threatening injuries, a civil war, notoriously bad tempered Kings, and singlehandedly lead a charge on a castle in his fifties, oh, and charged into battle in his 70's. ⚔️🗡🛡 William, once a landless knight, died as the Earl of Pembroke, one of the richest men in the western world, and the regent of the whole of England. Personal development much? I think that lad had enough fire. No Tony Robbins seminar necessary. 😂 Let's conquer the weekend Lord Marshal style!👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽 #TheFuddhist #KnightsTemplar #ConquerItAll #History #WilliamMarshal (at Tintern Abbey (County Wexford))
