This Templar chapel (Templerkapelle) in Mücheln (13th c.) is thought to be the only fully preserved one in Germany. It likely survived the centuries because it was used as a barn for a long time…

The space is small, yet it feels bigger on the inside. The acoustics are surprisingly resonant. Your footsteps echo like in a full-sized Gothic church.

It sits quietly in the small village of Mücheln, near Leipzig and Halle. Closeby the small town where I grew up.
