DOCTOR WHO Lucky Day / The Robot Revolution
that and COVID denialism, obviously, which i somehow managed to miss despite *this* plot point below
UNIT aren’t always cops. they’re a nebulous enough fictional organisation that they can be whatever the show wants them to represent. in Lucky Day, they’re the NHS, the WHO, and they’re climatologists.
Ruby should've said, "I wish you go to hell," to Conrad and he should've ended up where Rogue is, and Rogue should've been allowed to beat him to death with hammers.
i love how this episode framed conrad as a kind of manchild. mummy (mrs flood) bringing him a sandwich for lunch. his desire for a fascist, ableist, homophobic society being the wishes of a "boy who wants the world to be better". reading kids' books to the wish god baby because only they present the kind of world he wants. and all of this being the result of a childish tantrum at the doctor calling him "nothing". it really gets at how much of the right's worldview is a fundamental petulance that the world isn't catered to them
“'Think Tank' is a deliberate call-back to the story Robot from 1975. I figured Conrad did his research.” – writer Pete McTighe
DOCTOR WHO Lucky Day
Shoutout to this person on TikTok who confidently changed their name to “og Conrad Clark fan” before Lucky Day aired.
