Something that I find kinda dumb is that my favorite Shoot From The Hip ship is Cloohickey, from Toby's Secret Pocket.
The Detective (Constable?) Sam attempts to set up as the main character x the character Luke makes up just to make sure he was right ("I was pretty sure it was Toby") and upon finding out he was, in fact, right, shove it in Sam's face.
That somehow led to him leaving, and opened the door back up just to yell out "I fucked your wife!" to Sam's character. Detective Clancy was named from the sentence, paraphrasing "I wanna know why my wife is fucking Detective Clancy."
And that is apparently all I needed.
I love reading the fandom's interpretation, like
1. Doohickey doesn't have a wife, and it's just an inside joke
2. Clancy is Doohickey's husband and made a joke
3. Clancy had never met Mrs. Doohickey before hand and only found out afterwards. While trying to figure out a decent way to tell him, it sorta just came out in his moment of one upping of the man.
4. Clancy and Doohickey's wife got drunk. Not an excuse.
5. Clancy didn't know he had a wife, and just made a joke. He didn't sleep with her, but somehow revealed that she was cheating.
These men somehow outweigh Annabutch, Ditch, and even Bubbamiah. I don't know, maybe something to do with built in banter.
