Contact Improv Animation!

My partner invited me to a contact improv jam this past weekend and I, with no CI dance experience in a room full of DANCERS hahaha still had a really great time! I want to do more! the last half of the jam I sketched while everyone else danced and wow, sooo much fun. Also- love watching skilled ppl in their element. CI pairs so well with gesture drawing and straight ahead animation style!! this was a first pass and honestly delighted with how it turned out!

I am only just now learning about Contact Improvisation, but the more I learn, the more intrigued I am. The concept feels like a reflection of our universe, our bodies in orbit with one another in the same pattern of fall and support. Even when things become unbalanced, there is a natural gravitation from syncopated movement to symphonic harmony. How do YOU move through your world?

.uzun bi hafta bitti. ilk kez yalnızım. bi hostelden tabi ki de ranzanın üst katından size sesleniyorum.

haziran 18, yine "yağsam mı yağmasam mı kararsızlığındaki" havayı da alıp yanıma çıktım yola. huop öyle böyle uçtum kondum budapeşte'ye, yolda geçen süre kadar da pasaport kuyruğunda geçti vakit(neyse ki evrepa 1 saat geride).

şehre indiğim gibi şehirden en acil çıkış yapılacak otobüs terminaline attım kendimi. Batonyterenye dedim, kestiler bileti, atladım otbüse. ayçiçek tarlaları yanından geçerken bayağı trakya hissi geldi. zaten insanlar da sarı maviş...

1 buçuk saatlik yolun sonunda yol çalışması yapılan küçük bi yerleşime geldim ki internet gitti. elimde Greg'in tarifi var, ama yön duygum yok. Buldum bi Macar abla, ingilizce girdim, beden diliyle devam ettim. Ablayla birlikte yürüdük sessizce, beden diliyle son direktifleri verdi ve vedalaştık.

"Şu tepeyi aşınca" kısmına gelmiştim, sırtımda dev görünümlü çantamla başladım yürümeye. Sokaklar boş ve biraz yalnızdı. Öylece yürümeye ve o bahsi geçen tepeye tırmanmaya başladım. Beyaz bi araba geliyordu ağır ağır karşımdan ve durdu yanımda. Üzerimdeki çantalar beni ele vermiş olmalı ki festivale geldiğimi anlamışlardı. David ve Petra aldılar beni arabaya.

Alana vardık ve hayal ettiğimden daha bile fantastikti ilk yarattığı izlenim.

Yavaş yavaş ekiple, hocalarla tanışmaya başladım. İlk gelen katılımcı bendim ve huop en güzel yere yuvamı kurdum hemen. hazırlıklar, yemek organizasyonu derken zaten sanki bi süredir burdaymış gibi hissetmeye başladım.

uzun zamandır "aidiyet" ile uğraşırken ilk kez geldiğim, diline hiç de aşina olmadığım bi ülkede ve coğrafyada çeşit çeşit insanla birarada olmak bi "yuva" hissi verdi. tanış olmak, anlaşmak, ait hissetmek ve koşulsuzca sahiplenip bırakabilmek tam da o anda gerçekleşmeye başladı. ait hissettiğim alanda köklenmek, yayılmak, "kendim" olmak, rahat hissetmek ve sadece var olmak.
