Ca. 1853. Oil on canvas by Isidoro Lozano Queen Usenda, granddaughter of Don Pelayo, played a crucial role during the Reconquest. Isabella II gave her and her mother a place in the Chronological Series as titular or proprietary queens, which they apparently were not, in her efforts to shore up her own legitimacy. You can see this wonderful painting (on of my favs) in the “Invitadas” exhibition at El Prado. Go. You won’t regret it. 📍 @museoprado #culturasegura #museodelprado #pradomuseum #invitadas #pintura #painting #art #artist #obradearte #artwork #paint #artistsoninstagram #classicart #sketch #instaart #artoftheday #museum #arte #draw #acrylicpainting #digitalart #love #design #abstractart #portrait #artgallery #paintings #oilpainting #photography #fineart (en Museo del Prado) https://www.instagram.com/p/CI-ya6tjVz6/?igshid=z71ft9vqz1xk
