the world is a rather UGLY PLACE, isn't it? new york was no different. if anything, it was a clear example of what could be when all of the world was here in chaotic form. she's heard of frank castle from the men on the street. it's a man on a mission, looking for what sounds like to be revenge. she cautions them to stay away ; there's no profit in hindering a man on the warpath, especially when none of it should have anything to do with them. keep your head down, stick to the script. don't let an angry ex-military man distract any of you from doing what you need to do.

but sometimes, fate places you right within the path of MOST resistance.

it begins with the both of them, chasing after the same target. because then, oh, what negotiation did you have? ada's there first, but it doesn't matter in the course for when you want the same thing out of the same person. the research he held, something APPARENT INTEREST to the other man, ada having extracted the papers on her own already, but the second half was held within a sample the this man was claiming to have held within his office. she's in the middle of breaking into the safe, when none other than the punisher himself arrives.

they connect the dots on her side the more this man goes out looking for his answers, and his revenge. ada's gun levels over him for a moment, watching him run his calculated risks within that vision. "i'm not WITH HIM, if that's what you want to hear." her voice, smooth, cold enough. as if that part couldn't be screaming itself clearly enough given the man was already bleeding out of his temple, and tied to the only office chair in the room. this shit with laurie was sometimes fucking TERRIFYING.

like how they'd have them locked up in a basement, shuttling pills and powder into something they could press. it's all sorts of things, honestly, and really she didn't DISCRIMINATE in her offerings, so long as it made her money. rue counts herself lucky in a few things, like how despite laurie's best intentions and efforts, she'd never gotten rue onto injectiables the way that she had with faye. that faye hadn't started with a balance, here, but certainly had a fucking one now. and rue? well... she's still there. working on a debt that felt so much bigger than her, so much bigger than anything she could ever tackle.

there's so many guns here, she knew better than to just cut and run. like the day they rolled up on her, there's ways to force a person to give up their freedom, their lives. because the idea of dying, despite the way that rue found her depression to be a spiraling, ugly thing, was TERRIFYING. besides, laurie's always talking about, like, keeping her guard up, you never knew what could happen. but really, it's her way of suppressing discontent and rebellion, her head down, survival mode, kicked into high gear.

the bust is OBVIOUSLY unexpected.

it's like an explosion of sound, of terror, of anger. the kind of words that go flying have rue flinching, and slipping under a table, like, trying to gather what baring she could. but it's not as if anybody knows what the fuck is happening, rue sliding over to faye so that the two women could cling to each other, a scream, a wet choke, heard, as someone gets shot - OH FUCK, this was raelly happening, wasn't it? rue feeling tears slip, hot, terrified, down her cheeks, shaking there with faye as she raised a finger to her lips, trying to tell her to be quiet - not wanting either of them to be next by this mysterious someone that had chosen to crash the so called party.

SUBJECT: new blog ( to me lol ) starter ! CONCERNING: frank castle

at this point in her life, there were awful things that she'd come to learn! a world where there was both TERRIBLE VIOLENCE and strange magic and tears in what alice saw as reality. what a thing! to find that reality could be stranger than dreams, lately. but it didn't mean that that was the every day of the world. in fact, more often than not, those that lived on earth, with their feet on the ground and without the super powered highs of being chosen for a greater good, they knew nothing and experienced none of the insanity that might surround it.

and for the most part, wasn't that alice? despite her odd job held, her dedication paid towards the research of dreams, and the power therein. what if you could walk through them? touch them, explore all the parts and pieces of them that helped to creating the building blocks of A PERSON? she'd learned along the way just what most people thought themselves willing, but few capable of grasping hold of their truth!
